Hello All,
I received mail just now from CIC to post passport to them.
Details
- BC - PNP
- AOR on 23rd Feb
- Inland applicant

Question
I am in a bit of a pickle here. My wife (dependent applicant) is travelling and be back in to Canada on 26th May (so, it means I can apply only on 27th May + a couple of days for delivery). My work visa expires on July 31st.
- How long does it take for them to process and return passport?
- Do you guys think I need to apply for extension since visa expires on July 31st?

It would take around 2-3 weeks and there wont be any need to apply for your work visa extension

My BG changed to "In Progress" on 07th May, I don't know how much time will CIC take to complete it but the waiting is very painful.

It's crazy how some people get PPR the next day. How much background checking can be done in a day? I think the time that background check changes to in progress isn't all that accurate.

Congrats, my AOR date is one day less than you but being inland fsw, there isn't any update on my application :'(
You don't need to extend your permit, you should be able to land before July 31st.

Background checks are not done in a day. they are done from the day teh file gets under processing. If you want more clarity order GCMS Notes.
It saddens me to see how some people are envious on how some others get Visa quicker than they get. Everything has a reason and just coz you don't know the reason doesn't mean you will start judging.

Keep patience and everything will be done right. Timelines for PPR is stated at 6 months by CIC, so don't start killing yourself on day 1 of application submission.

I second that. The system does NOT reflect real time status of the application.

Hi guys,

Just to let you know that I'm still here, silently following what's going on. My meds were passed on March 18, and since then not a single movement in my app. :(
The rest of my details are in my signature.

Good luck to all and keep your mind cool!

Can one order GCMS notes for their application even when they are not in Canada and aren't Canadian citizens?

Hello Everyone,

Congratulations to everyone who got PPR already. Anxiously waiting for my chance. :(

I’m going to request GCMS notes for my EE PR application via ATIP using the info of my Canadian Aunt. I need help on the following fields as I’m not sure what to indicate:

What type of information are you requesting?
Privacy act?
OR
Access to information act?

Which type of records do you wish to request?
Case files?
OR
Corporate records?
OR
Passport?

Client ID Number (####-####)
-I assume here I should put the UCI number I got from AOR instead of the EE profile number. Please correct if wrong!

What type of record would you like to request?
Permanent Residence?
OR
Express Entry Profile?

File Number(s)
EE profile number?
OR
UCI number I got from AOR?

Below is the summary where I will indicate the correct inputs above:

Act & Record Selection

Act: Access to Information Act
Type of Records: Case Files

Requesting information for:
Surname (Family Name): TEST
Given Name(s) (First Name): TEST
Date of Birth: 1897-03-07
Client ID Number (####-####): 1234-1234
What type of record would you like to request?: Permanent Residence

Which specific information are you looking for?: The electronic notes of the immigration or citizenship officer(s)
File Number(s): 23452345

For the files to be attached, what I know is I need to provide copies of a consent form and my Aunt’s passport. Am I missing anything else aside from these files?

Thank you very much. Your feedback will be highly appreciated!

^ That looks good, file number should be the EE profile/APR number, not the UCI.
