Quick question, does everyone always get an email when anything changes on their profile? I'm assuming I'll get an email when anything changes so I'm not actually logging in and checking my account that frequently.

Sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't. But when it does it's most of the time late (like a day after the update). I suggest you check on tour account at least once a week.

My procedure is to always check both email and myCIC. I have had occasions in that myCIC has been updated and yet I have not received a notification email. Things could happen where the email may be slow in getting to you or the email will get lost in spam etc etc and that is why I regularly check myCIC. The faster you get the update the quicker you can get a response to them, if needed, and in doing that you are making sure that you are not the hold up on the process .... just my opinion :)

The emails may lag from the updates: for the last update I received an email 4 days after a change in status

Looks like CIC has started undusting my file after a month's' break. My BG has gone into 'In Progress' today.

Hi, Our timelines are very similar. This gives hope to FSW Inland people. I hope you get your PPR soon :)
BTW What NOC you are in?

Thanks for your words. My NOC is 2173 and I got to know my file is being processed at Ottawa VO.

I follow yours' and JoacRy profiles closely, We have almost similar timelines. Wish, we get PPR sooner than soon :)

Best!

Hi @hemurk, this is great news for all February and FSW Inland Applicants. Seems like your Security & Criminality has been Passed very fast 'relatively speaking'.

Hopefully it's a similar case for all applications as well. Good luck for the balance of the processing time for your application.

Thanks JoacRy. You, Kirtivsingh and I are on same boat with similar timelines.. I wish us to get Passport Requests soon!

I called CIC call centre for other purpose and before hung up, I asked them about VO where my PR is currently processed. They told it's with Ottawa VO.

They wouldn't say anything more than this quoting "your file has not crossed 6 month timeline, so we can't tell you about the current status"

Hemurk,
Any luck? Generally you get PPR mail with next 1-5 days from BG in progress.

I haven't received any email.. considering the other FSW (Inland) AORs' from December and January, I'm not expecting PPR anytime before April 2nd/ 3rd week. I'll keep you guys posted if there is any progress in my file.

I received my AOR on Feb 10, BGC changed to "In process" on Feb 17, and there has been no update since. Does anyone know how long background check takes usually?

p.s. how do i add the timeline to my signature?
