Hello, tks for the reply. Just go to the Processing Times section on MyCIC.

And then you answer two questions... "Permanent Resident Cards" and "Yes (new PR Card)".

I totally understand the times are longer, just wondering how this number is calculated.
That's the processing time for a new PR card, not for PR. You apply for a PR card after you land with your CoPR

Express Entry gives you the COPR (Confirmation of Permanent Residence).
With that you can land in Canada, and you will be granted the "Permanent Resident status".
With the Permanent Resident status, you can request a PR Card, and that card is taking 49 days to be granted. This is the document that allows you to get out and in Canada whenever you want, while it's still valid.

Murilo

Hey guys,

I have a question. I have seen lots of ppl getting PR few days after their BG changes from "not needed" to "in Progress". Having this in mind, does it matter if the applicant is inland or outland?

It does.
Usually it happens for FSW Outland.

That is my question. So, if you take a look at the November, December and January spreadsheets, you see all the PNP inland applicant whose their BG changed to "In progress" got their PR less than 10 days.
As you know, the BG for PNP inland applicants changes to "In progress" once in the first month after PR application submitted. I am not talking about the first BG Change. I am talking about the second time that the BG changes to "in Progress", usually at lest 3 months after the application submitted.

I'm CEC inland and BG check went to 'in progress' at the beginning of January then back to 'not needed' 2 weeks later. Nothing happened until Monday when it changed to 'in progress' again and I rec'd PPR today. This has happened with most of the CEC's who rec'd PPR in the last couple of days.

Thanks for your reply. I'm PNP inland. I got AoR in early February. The BG changed to "in Progress" once in February. It then changed to "not needed" after couple of days and it just changed to "in Progress" this Monday almost 2 months after the last movement in my EE application. I'm very frustrated and I have no idea if it means the PR is close to me or not !!! any idea?

Unfortunately, CIC is unpredictable but it's not totally unheard of for people to receive PPR in 3 months. However, err on the side of caution and don't expect to get anything til at least the 4th month. I said to myself when I submitted the application that I wouldn't get PPR til end of April/beginning of May - although I know how hard it is to wait :(

Still waiting

There's a chance you could get PPR in the next 2-4 weeks. From the pattern I've seen, Dec PNP inlanders got PPR 3-4 weeks before the CEC inlanders did. Although as I said in previous post, CIC is unpredictable and it's very much a case of waiting it out. My application went completely unchanged for almost 3 months then BG check in progress and PPR within 3 days!
