So my CIC account is still showing background checks in progress and hasn't been updated in over three weeks despite a ghost email 8 days ago. However on Tuesday I got the passport request email from Ottawa. Can I crack open the champagne and start celebrating?

Just go in there and fill your infornation you will get all the information about your application

people have still be known to get rejected after ppr so i would hold off on the drink till dm

Really?? do you remember the reasons for rejection? that's really baffling to me!

So, I sent of the copy of my passport etc yesterday and it was delivered today, how long before I get the beautiful permanent resident card in my hands ? And I have heard some people say that I need to cross the border and then come back into Canada when I get the card, Is this true and what is it for?
