Can anyone tell me what Ecas means?

Ecas is an online tool to track your application.
This on-line service allows Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) clients to view securely the status of their immigration and/or citizenship application(s) on-line, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; anytime, anywhere.

You may use this service if you have:

•sponsored a member of the family class;
•applied for permanent residence from within or outside Canada;
•applied for a permanent resident card;
•applied for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship);
•applied for Canadian citizenship for a person adopted by a Canadian citizen;
•applied for a citizenship certificate (proof of Canadian citizenship);
•applied to renounce Canadian citizenship; or
•applied to resume Canadian citizenship.
Before using this service, please be sure to have a copy of all the documents you have received regarding your application(s):

These may include one or more of the following:

•a copy of your application;
•your financial receipts (IMM 5401); or
•any letter or official document issued to you by CIC.

Any principal applicant for PR will have to be NON EDE. If his/her wife; the secondary applicant will always be EDE.

Under the PR rules; the CIC cannot reject your spouse application even if she is a burden on canada under medical purposes.

This was also the advised of my Physician here in Singapore

Hi EEcanvan,

My Medical type is Family EDE and my wife who is residing out of Canada has a Family EDE as well and my medical is showing as passed as well. As for why we are not seeing many Family EDEs on this forum maybe there weren't any issues with Family EDE. Fingers crossed and hope for the best. My timeline is almost similar as yours.

I am a principal applicant without any dependent and my medical type is EDE-family. Can you please share the reason for your surety that 'the PA will have to be NON-EDE' .

Hi last time when i talk to my physician . .i keep on telling him i am applying for permanent resident and asking him why did he put worker. He explained to me that how are you going to apply as permanent residence.
Then i am applying as a skilled worker. He said i cannot be family EDE because no family member sponsor me. However my partner is EDE and he explained that my partner is my dependent thats why exempted for excessive medication. There is nothing i can do they are the one inputing my category

We send our application on august 5, got aor same day, they began processing it on August 11 and requested schedule A for co-aplicant same day. We submitted it later that day. Our medical is passed, background check in progress and today we noticed that there is "decision made" in ECAS. There is no decision explanation, just this. In mycic everything is same, application is open and background check is in progress. This all is happening too fast so I think they rejected us... what do you think guys?

Any updates Tinchy22? Did you get to know what the decision is? I really hope it's PPR. Please update us!

I got AOR on 18th august . Didnt get any mail other than initial AOR . People after me also passed medicals today ..

Dont know why . I am under Province nomination.
