Fantastic - So here's my case.

FSW - Inland
ITA July 10th
Submitted & AOR 27th August
IELTS Official Copy Submitted 2nd Sept.
BG Check - 2nd Sept
Medical Passed - 12th Sept.
ECAS Gone Oct 10th
No Ghost Emails No Nothing.

And amazingly today - got a profile update email first and found there's not BG in progress anymore. it says BG not needed at this time.

When it changes from BG in progress to BG not needed at this time, I am not sure if this is a good news. I've seen posts where people gotten rejected afterwards. Someone can correct me if I am wrong.

They are doing something different from November. There are more than 40 people in Sep/Nov/Dec AOR where BG has changed to NN. None of them have been rejected or requested any additional documents yet. No updates after that. So we dont know what is going on. But doesn't look like a reject.

Can you tell me which is your VO ? Is it from Ottawa ?

There has been more of --" additional document request" than rejection of after change of BG status to "not needed".

Similar situation here. AOR Aug 8/Inland, received request for additional document on Nov 24 and then background changed to "Not needed at this time" and has been the same ever since. I submitted the docs and the field says 'Provided' but nothing after that.

I wasn't aware of this. My apology for the misinformation. I as well had an additional doc req, which was back in September a couple weeks after my AOR. After it was received by my visa office, my bg went in progress from not started.

I opine that the actual update is just a little bit delayed as they(cic) try to prioritize some other files (July/Aug). I theorize that the affected NOV applicants would get their document requests as the case officers open up their batch again.
