I was never bullish on the new government. I had favored the conservatives, knowing a change in government would usher in gamut of unpleasant policies.

If no PPR is issued from ottawa till January, I can only infer that the PM may have instructed CIC/IRCC to pause the application of economic migrants till further notice.

Refugees are top priority now. So de-facto economic streams are significantly slowed down. But they'll never admit it, because it's not good for their image.

Ironically, nothing would destroy that image any faster than a signicant burst in processing time of 80% of your applicants; and worse if such delays are not effectively communicated. If they begin to have the processing time spill over to 7, 8, 9 months, it kind of defeats the whole essence of EE.

In my opinion, I think CIC would still come through for us. I am counting on july guys to get their PPR this month and august guys, next month.

Nothing is going to happen even after a month. They still have to process almost as many refugees as they promised so I don't know what you guys are expecting before Christmas to happen.. Just being realistic here. I waited for AINP 22 months and now this... :-X

Does it really matter? The fact is that the new government screwed us big times. They are afraid to give any privilege for refugees in Canadians' face but this is exactly what there are doing to all of us. Prepare for a long ride people! ;D

The waiting game is really painful. I am willing to have a delay on my PPR as long as CIC gives a written assurance that my application is approved. Compared to our dreadful situation and uncertainties. Oh well, wishful thinking :'(

I received AOR on August 28th and paid RPRF on October 14th. When can I expect to see my background check status change to 'in progress'? I am FSW outland btw.

Depends up on your visa office . If it's cpc Ottawa , you can expect it in jan 2016( considering the current speed)

Officer passed my eligibility on 30th of sept( according to my gcms notes ) last ghost email was on 14 oct and from that day to today i got no updates i am cec ..

I have been watching your posts for quiet some time . Yours is an exception where almost all other CEC got PPR.

I believe some applicants get part of CIC 's system glitch where their file gets delayed to transfer to concerned officer due to some strange reasons. I think priority of each file ( the date to move forward) is set by system after each stage.

I know its just so strange and frustrated, when you see all other cec already got there passports back and i am still waiting for my bg check to start but nothing we can do ... I just wish cic clear all this blockage within in month ...

What i heard from some other forum, we get these ghost mails when some officer checks or opens our application.

Yha but its almost 2 months now for that ghost email... I can see that on my gcms notes to that office open my application on 14 and i order gcms notes in 15 oct so after that nothing ,a complete silence
