Well, if you look at the question-"have you been refused entry to Canada or any other country?"

Its pretty simple to figure out it doesnot pertain to WP or PR or anything else.This question was posed to my spouse. We declared it, to be honest to the BSO.

Infact when my spouse first came to Canada, she was asked this question also at a POE and had to produce those letters.

Its at your discretion if you want to disclose or not. I think its good to be honest, even though its a work permit.

Hmm, yeah, they must have had their own reasons why they asked her for that at POE. I was refused a WP, but after that got 2 LMIAs with 2 new permits, got them twice at POE and wasn't asked about previous refusal. As you stated in your next post and gave the example of your friend - at the bottom line it's up to the officer. Thanks for sharing the info, better to be safe than sorry.

I am still here and waiting !

I will be emailing IRCC tomorrow to request an update on my file, as I am 27 weeks since AOR. I have only contacted IRCC once before to request GCMS notes back in August. At that point everything had 'passed' with the exception of security.

I see no point in phoning IRCC as they ask people to email, if they are over six months past AOR and avoid other forms of contact. I don't hold much confidence in getting any information of value by emailing, but at least I will be following IRCC guidance on contacting them. Plus I believe call centre agents pretty much say anything that comes into their heads to get you off the phone !!

Hopefully good news tomorrow!

That's some good news, it's just a matter of time now. Did you manage to know your VO?, Im 27th April AOR london VO and still waiting.

I'm not sure where my visa office is. I would assume that it's London as I am in the U.K., but my BG check went into progress at a late time in the day which made me think Ottawa. I'm not sure, but I will only celebrate when the email comes. I hope they didn't just tell me what I wanted to hear.

Why would they lie to you on the phone? I would be gutted if they had lied to me today. I have so much riding on this visa coming through in time!

just called CIC right now. after waiting 18 mins i got through to an agent who told me my file is still under review by Ottawa and if I don't hear back until May 5, 2017 that they encourage me to call back then. May 2017...i had to ask him thrice if i heard that right. really hoping he was high on some next level substances, lol

They said something similar to me too. I think it's just something that comes up on their portal - so don't worry about it! Just be patient - it will come through. I know it's easy to say but you have no other option.

Hi, I hope that you were told correct information and there is no basis to suggest otherwise, so remain positive.

Trends suggest that call agents do come out with an awful lot of cr@p! For instance the suggestion that people should be patient and wait until May 2017... what a load of baloney ! I am sure this applies to a small minority, but to offer this advice out generically is just comical.

Many instances of people being told to wait patiently for months, then they get PPR the next day or week. Utter garbage !

i concur. last time i called CIC, the lady told me it should be processed before the year end and that i should call back within a month. which i did, and got told May 2017. LOL. honestly i'm not going to waste time worrying about this, i just passed the 7 month mark 2 days ago and i gave myself between 6-8 months wait after the AOR, maybe even 9 so going to keep on with my daily routine. i read on another thread some time back they were telling people January 2017.

Just checked mycic and my application is approved. I sent passport to CIC this 5th and it was delivered on Oct 11th.

Passport is still with CIC as the tracking number does not return anything on Canada Post's website.
