I applied for common law sponsorship outland, and have received AOR1, does that mean that the officers think it is ok even though my partner and I were apart for a month and a half (because of work) within the 12 month cohabitation?

no, all that means is that your application has been received and is considered complete (meaning no missing/unsigned/outdated documents). the applicant's application (Where the relationship validity information is) won't be reviewed until after you receive sponsor approval, the application has been sent for further processing at your visa office and the immigration officer reviews the application.

Did you give a good explanation for your absence and proof that your relationship continued during that period?

Um...I didn't explain much because I never thought it would be an issue until I saw some posts on this forum. On my background declaration personal history part I did mention I wasn't outside of Canada for work during that period. I also sent our chat history and call history to show that our relationship was continuous. But I didn't really explain anything to be honest.
