Hi,

My Dad passed away at the end of 2014. I then submitted sponsorship and immigration application at the end of 2015 (for the 2016 batch). My mom is living lonely in her home country and I am her only child. Is there anyway to communicate with CIC to explain our situation and is there any possibility to expedite the process? Right now she is under supervisa and it is getting close to the end of the 2-year period allowed..

Thanks!

Unfortunately, no, CIC won't expedite the application.

I personally don't know anything about the SuperVisa, but is it possible to extend?

Thanks. I am also asking in this forum about the extension of the supervisa however the info I got was that it was not intended for long staying...

Just out of curiosity, I was under the assumption that you had to do a medical exam for a supervisa (my mom in law had to do one), but you indicated your mom didn't want to do one, so did she change her mind now?

.. I think that there was misunderstanding... She has a supervisa but getting to the end of the 2-year period. She did go through the medical exam. She has valid insurance. Problem right now is to get her to stay longer, whether as PR or under supervisa.. However it seems to be difficult. We are thinking about talking to the MP to see if she can do something for us.. Thanks

Talking to the mp will not expedite the process. Can you imagine how many people would want their case expedited? I do not know much about supervisa's I thought you could go out and back in to Canada?

Why dont you just sponsor her under the parent sponsorship stream?

OP stated that they submitted the sponsorship app for 2016 batch.

OP wants to expedite the processing of the app which isn't possible.

Super Visa is set to expire soon.
