I'm looking for a room but I'll be coming only in December. Where exactly is the place? I'll be joining u of c amd am looking for a place around the foothills campus. Can you please assist me with this. How exactly does this whole process work? Can I book an accommodation from India itself. I don't wanna spend cash on a hotel room. Please help ....

I have also applied for UOC, calgary in MEng in Elect and Comp (ECE Dept). Just want to check if you have got your letter of acceptance. For me, till now no communication from University. If I send an email, I get a reply that decision will be made by 30Sept.

Yes.. I got my admission letter long back. I got it in June itself. I also got my visa a month back. My prof took care of everything. I asked her to fast track my admission process considrring the strike so she got that done through the department.

I was not knowing that one can check with the professor directly. Is it common (new to this world and no guidance). In my case, even If I get the admission now, I probably may struggle to get the visa on time.

I had to first choose a prof of my liking and confirm whether he/she was willing to take me or not. I guess this is the case with every other dept in UofC, I might be wrong though. Once she agreed to take me in then I applied formally through the online application portal. There again, I spoke to my program administrator to fast track my admission and she cooperated. Maybe its different for different departments. I'm gonna join the Medical School in the dept. of biochemistry and molecular biology.
