hi all,

I sent my fingerprints on july 02, and they were received by aug 07 in their system. It will be excatly 2 months tomorrow and am still waiting for any test invitation letter from Scarborough office. I got my fingerprint from RCMP in a physical copy and I sent scarborough a copy of it

Is anyone else in the same situation? my file was received in January 2014 and i got my book and stuff by march 17, 2014.

please give me some info on how the process works

If the FP doc was received, then there's no problem. It hasn't been that long yet. My advice, call CIC and ask a specific question, such as 1) have the background checks been completed? 2) has your file been transferred to the local office? 3) where's your local office? Etc. If your file's in the local CIC office, then the test date is not that far in the future. Good luck! :)

Thanks for replying, I really appreciate that. My local office is Scarborough. My file was transferred there sometime in may I believe, but then I go a FP request letter from st.clair office. I got my finger prints done asap and I sent them to my local office(as advised by the call centre agent) on july 02. They updated my file(according to the agent) saying that finger prints were received and are in the system on august 07th. Now, since than I have been waiting patiently for any updates, as tomorrow it will be exactly two months.

I have seen others who have submitted their prints, and already got the test invitation, so that's why I am so confused, and worried, because according to people's calculation, I should have the test invitation after 6-7 weeks...

any info from people who are in the same situation will be greatly appreciated.

thanks again

Yes, because their local office is Mississauga or even Vancouver, which seems to be on fire lately, and yours is good ol' Scarborough. They are not as fast as Mississauga who has gazillions of oath ceremonies every day and little CIC elves working to deliver citizenship approvals for Xmas. :) What I'm trying to say in this very inarticulate way is nothing's wrong with your file because it's taking 1-3 weeks longer. Scarborough is working on your letter right now. Well, maybe it's already in the mail! :) Good luck.

Actually I'm pretty sure you will. They're just digesting all the info. As always. :)

you know, I was told that they are waiting for RCMP verification. I mean why do we need to take our rcmp fingerprints, pay that $75 fee and then wait even longer for CIC to verify whether the copy of fingerprints we sent is real or not? this system is so messed up but what can i do, i really love this country!

I hope they don't RQ me because I literally have not travelled outside Canada for since I came here. My passport has been expired for a long time so making me unable to travel outside the country.

Lol I was joking. :) They are just verifying the paperwork as you said. And because your office is not so big/fast as others, it takes longer. :)

Hi CicStratos,

I have been 'blessed' with FP request....and my file is at Scarborough as well. The request came on Aug 14,2014 and I did it on Aug 18 from an approved 3rd party agency. They took care of the whole process, so I am not too familiar with what exactly RCMP sends to CIC and who verifies what.

But CIC received it from RCMP on 25th August. I called CIC mid September and the agent said 'Yes we have received it, but we are yet to review/verify the result'. Didnt ask what how they'll review/verify it.

I called them again end of last week and this time the agent said something along 'Your FP results were reviewed and it looks fine, and your case is waiting for a test date to be scheduled...'. Not sure how much to rely on that now that I see you are waiting longer than me at the same CIC office. For me, CIC agents have been misleading on several occasions in the past....

anyways, not sure if this helped, hope Scarborough CIC gives us some good news soon... all the best...

The address of where to send your FP result is stated in the FP letter. Most of the times, if you got the FP letter from St Clair, you should send the result there as well.
If you only ordered one set of result when you submitted the FP, means RCMP didn't send to CIC, that's why you could get it. You have to forward to them asap as stated in the FP letter.
One of the reason that it takes so long could be the result should be sent to St Clair, but you sent it else where. Imagine when they sent you the AOR, how long did it take? Same when they sent your FP letter back to St Clair, they would do it like AOR stuff. Just my opinion, though.

If you submitted on 18th and CIC got it on 25th, that means your record is clear. It is clearly stated in the FP result, I couldn't remember exactly, something like : that the person cannot be affiliated to any immigration charge or criminal charge.
What else needs to be reviewed? It takes 1 minute to read the letter and another 5 seconds to press the green light button.

I am so confused now..The call centre agent repeatedly told me to send my FP results to scarborough office, even though i got the request letter from st.clairs. since scarborough is my local office, my FP results were supposed to go there. I called the cic agent earlier this morning, and was told that they are waiting for the verfication from RCMP for some reason. I dont know what the hell is going on and what FP process is suppose to be, but as far as I know, I was told by cic agents(different agents) to mail it off directly to my local office(scarborough). since i got them done electronically, I didn't need to "mail" them, since RCMP is suppose to send a copy to cic

Don't keep calling the call centre, those agents only sing a song for you.
When they told you to send it to Scarborough, you didn't tell them the the letter was coming from St. Clair. And btw, who told you that your file was in Scarborough? If St. Clair sends a letter to you, that means your file is in St. Clair. That also means that your local office is St. Clair.
