I'm going tru port of Spain, I sent my application in sept. , got reply in oct. , to wait three months, it's been five months and all I see I it's in process

I'm going through POS office as well, my application was receive there April 09, ARC payment was submitted in December 09, I'm still awaiting their response..

I am going through POS as well ... App was in process since Aug 12, 09. Got AOR in November and nothing else since.

I am going to be dealing with an ARC situation since I was a failed refugee and PRRA applicant in Canada.

The latest response I got from the office was via email indicating me that my file is in queue for an interview date as soon as they get out other files ..... argghhh ... i just hate it when CIC becomes unreasonable to some of their clients.

hi everyone
I am going through the port-of-spain office processing began on 5th February 2010.

Welcome aboard Twinsmama .... you are still fresh in the process. Be prepared for a long wait from POS.

Are you from Trinidad or elsewhere?

It takes them about 10 months to give you an answer to your file. You just have to keep bugging them via email which takes 28-30 days for them to respond before you can get an update on your file. RIDICULOUS? I am sure you will understand once your frustration starts building up ;D

Welcome aboard once again

Hi Everyone!

I am currently sponsoring my husband in Trinidad. I know that on the CIC website it says the timeline is approx 6 - 15 months but has anyone heard of somebody getting through in 6 months? I also find that there are not a lot of people on here going through Port of Spain, is that because people aren't getting through or something? I'm really nervous about this whole process. I believe all my documents are in order and I sent in everything all at once to CPC-M, so hopefully I won't need anything else.

So far my timeline is as follows

March 5, 2010 - Application recv'd by CPC-M
March 25, 2010 - Approved as a sponsor
April 7, 2010 - Application Recv'd by Port of Spain
May 3, 2010 - Ecas status changed to In Process (for PR)
May 7, 2010 - Letter sent to husband (Re: in process status)

I am also going thru the Port Of Spain office. But i am just in my first phase..My application is still in missisauga and so far i have not been able to log onto ECAS.How long before i am able to log onto ECAS.

I was able to log in to Ecas once they approved me as a sponsor. They sent me a letter on March 25th, I actually received on the 29th and on that letter it had the client Id number that you'd use to log into the CIC website to check the status.

Hey everyone,

Anymore updates from POS?

I think I am one of the few in this forum who has had my application in for a long time now.

Just to recap,

Application started processing at POS on August 12, 2009
Email response in April informed me that my file is in queue for an interview

Still haven't heard anything about interview date yet

Please share your time lines if possible

Hi everyone,
Well I'm here still waiting no news no updates nothing.
@ confusednscared,Thank you............ I am from SVG sorry for the long reply. I've noticed you said you will be dealing with ARC,did you received any news about that as yet? I will be needing ARC, maybe you can share with me/us so we can have an idea what to expect.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!!!!!!!!!

twinsmama,

Thanks!

I haven't been yet able to gather any information from the POS office regarding the ARC process. SO far, they said that my file is in queue for a scheduled interview.

In response to an ARC email I sent them, this is what they had to say:

MY EMAIL:

To: PSPAN (IMMIGRATION)
Subject: Spousal Sponsorship and ARC

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to get a better understanding regarding Spousal Applications that require Authorization to Return to Canada (ARC).

If an individual has a spousal sponsorship in process, can they apply for ARC in the mean time or do they have to wait until the Visa Officer makes the request?

Also, is ARC part of the application process at the Port of Spain Visa Office, meaning that if the individual gets called for an interview will the Visa Officer advise at that time to apply for ARC, which in turn will take longer to process the entire spousal application and longer to get back to Canada?

Lastly, how long does it take to process spousal applications that require ARC?

Your help in this matter and timely response is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely

RESPONSE

Good Afternoon,

This is in response to your email below.

Only when you are instructed by the office that is processing your case to pay for the Authorization to Return to Canada should you do so. An application that requires an ARC has the same processing time as one that does not require an ARC.

You can try emailing them as well to see if you get the same response. Be sure not to include your spouse's filing information because they put the email in queue to be answered.

confusednscared

Thank you very much. I was wondering if the ARC need an extra processing time also. Thanks to the response in your email its included in the processing time..........I just wish this could be over soon, I miss my husband and my twins miss their dad :(
On the other hand I hope you get your interview soon,GOOD LUCK!!! GOD BLESS!!!

Twinsmama,

Nice that you've got TWINS ... must be keeping you busy as ever :)

So, I know the ARC response from the office sounds wholesome but when you do read their language over and over and try to dissect every bit of the english language, you come to realize that:

1. the application that requires ARC has the same processing time, only the PR APPLICATION PART
2. ARC is a different application altogether and it adds more processing time to the application, I think from other posts it's around 3-6 months and each person's case is different.

Some people are asked just to pay the fees while others are asked to do a submission :S

It's a little tricky the way they word their response. You have to sometimes read it over and over and try to understand what it is they are trying to really state.

How long has your application been in process for?

HEY EVERYONE,

I have noticed now that there are quite a few forum members that are going through the Port of Spain office. I was wondering if you all would prefer to join a standard forum ( Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago Office) and share your experiences and updates as opposed to having to go through the long lists of topics to find the one that you are most associated.

I will be creating the forum so if you would like, be free to post all your messages and updates.

Thanks and hope to see you all in the new Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago Office forum :)
