Happy easter Puzzled! when you say i have to go to the office to take the pictures something just popped into my mind....Will RAMQ have an office near where i live? I live 14 hours train ride from montreal in the gaspesie....ah i know i can go and check online or wait to call them next week but i just wanted to share this doubt with you...my new question is: they take the photos at the end of the waiting period or just after you send AIP and CSQ?
Oh Im sorry i applied in MONTREAL downtown because Im residing in the city . Its pretty near to me by taking the metro. Ok heres the address and tel number of RAMQ and just choose which one is nearest to you:

IN QUEBEC - 1125, GRANDE ALLEE OUEST
TEL# 418 646 4636

IN MONTREAL - 425 BOUL DE MAISONNEUVE OUEST
TEL# 514 864 3411

ELSEWHERE IN QUEBEC (toll free) 1 800 561 9749

The place where I applied in downtown they took the photos right away on that same day . Like you have to fall in line because a lot of people are applying for health card so you have to be early so that you can finish soon. They will get all the documents to you and the last thing was you have to take the photo and pay a certain fee. Thats how it goes here in MONTREAL city branch but Im not sure which branch is nearer to you just call and ask them and also im not sure if this applies to all branches like for the photos and requirements so better ask them maybe if you go to other place they might have different rules , ask you for photos and some requirements to bring on your own ok? Your too far from the city 14 hrs travel oh my god so I guess you have to ask which one is more convenient for you... :)

thanks! I just hope i don't have to show up at one of their offices and that i can deal with this from long distance sending papers by mail otherwise then i will go to montreal where my father in law lives and stay there but i expect this to be dealt from a distance. the experience i have with the efficiency of the quebec government is so far very good!

Your welcome and i hope my information helps you. I really hope that quebec govt efficiency will do us more good because I heard that if we apply from Quebec the processing to get the PR is much slower than any part of canada :-[ the long wait is not over for us after this csq then another waiting period for AIP and more waiting period for the next step for PR sometimes im getting sick and tired with all of this ::) and im waiting for my working permit now then finding a job is not easy too since i dont speak french Life here is Tough !!! sometimes i just feel discouraged! anyway have a nice day! :)

yes i hope it gets faster. when i i talked about government efficiency i meant all the papers that i had to do for my daughter when she was born and other papers for my wife. Also for the federal government i had had a good impression but after dealing with immigration i have to say that i'm really disappointed, especially at federal level. because if you think about it the quebec part of the process is not that slow. but waiting 2 months for CIC just to open an application and waiting 8 months for e-cas just to get an idea where your application is going is a bit crazy....i think they should employ more people at CIC. some people say that it is done on purpose all this delay.....I don't want to go there because i know that there are many applications to deal with but if they employed more people it would go so much faster...
some people these days are getting AIP and PR at the same time. let's hope it is my case.... ;D
Did you send police certificates included in your application? I did

Yes im just glad that im not the only one expriencing this kind of stuff and all you know sometimes it really gets into my nerves its like taking forever... ???.Are you the principal applicant as sponsored by your wife? In my case my husband sponsored me and I was here since 2009 and we got married just last year. I lived half of my life in Taiwan and half of my life in Philippines because my father is chinese and my mother is from the Phillipines so im half breed :D After the AIP they requested for my police clearance from taiwan because Im residing in Taiwan for 15 years before entering here in Canada. I submitted it a month ago and I also applied for working permit and still waiting for that. I also enrolled for my free french classes by MICC it will be starting on MAY 2 finally i have something to do now making myself useful and i hope i can learn french soon because im fed up taking language classes all my life, chinese language, english and tagalog hmmm lets see how can french influence me ::)

Nice to hear your story Puzzled! Yes , I have been sponsored by my wife. we met in 2005 in argentina, where i used to run a hostel. she was a customer of mine ;D the business was going great but In 2010 we decided to leave argentina for many reasons....I'm italian and i became a permanent resident of argentina just a few weeks before leaving. it took almost 8 years to get the full residency  I have been previously to canada in the past but a few months here and there. Now i have been in the country since june 2010 . i got married in may 2010 in a beautiful amazing place (Aitutaki, in the cook islands) and applied in july 2010 from inside Canada. Now it's a bit stressful because i don't have a job anymore and the money was spent to buy our house cash and a car (we would like to open a cafe with eventually a hostel and we are living in the other side of the building. the house is big but it was pretty cheap to buy). now my wife is working but i don't have the right to yet. I speak a bit of french but not 100% i still have to practice more but it is going better. i speak italian, english, & spanish so also for me it s another language, but that i like because i like learning languages but i understand your point, sometimes our history of moving around the world and not having fixed roots makes us a bit confused and lost. I sent the police certificates from argentina and italy and i included them in the original package fearing delays in my application if i hadnt done it. well nice to hear from you and i will keep you updated about my application!. Ciao!!!

ah i was forgetting . we have a beautiful 3 year old baby daughter together. she was born in Canada in 2008

Wow what a beautiful love story! That place where u got married is wonderful island, i wish I can go there someday for a vacation when all this things were done :D Well... you are not the only one suffering from stress because of this process and im glad to know that there are people who are in the same boat like us, I understand the situation because i dont have any job too since last year , we got married here in MONTREAL last april2010. I didnt submit the Police clearance in my package thats why when I got the AIP they requested to send it within 90 days, but I do have the police clearance since I applied it a few months back from Taiwan. They never ask for my police clearance from the Philippines ::) i just wish that this will be over soon so we can get back to our normal life ::) Im trying to get pregnant but its not coming yet but its ok , for now im looking forward for my french classes and definitely to have part time job when i get my work permit. Posting in this forum makes me sane and lessen the stress :D Have a nice day. Its a beautiful Sunday we might take a stroll outside ;D

did you apply from quebec inland? If so you should receive soon a letter to go on MICC. did you receive it? If so did you send the application to to MICC and paid the required fees(253 $). if so did you receive CSQ (certificat du selection du quebec). after CSQ you should receive AIP from the federal government or if lucky directly PR and an appointment for a landing interview. my application was received at vegreville on the 6 th of july 2010 and i already have CSQ

I got girl who is helping me with immigration, she did all my papers. Always going to her office.
She prepared application for MICC just waiting for one letter to give it to her.

i see from your timeline that you sent some information in april 2011 that maybe you were asked to provide . That may have slowed a bit the process

i forgot to answer this question:

when you send the the application to MICC quebec, you will send the payment by credit card form signed with all the ohter forms, they will charge you a few days later having received you application. calculate 3 weeks total to receive CSQ, 4 weeks if you live very far from quebec or montreal
