If u are travelling for the first time ( Specially to North America ) try avoiding a transit in the US. They will do ur immigration and background questioning there.
Try taking the direct PIA flight. It will give u the Max baggage allowance and its direct.
Now i know PIA is not the best carrier, but it will def be the best in terms of timings. Second option should be Dubai to Toronto- Direct.

Avoid the hassle of US customs/ Immigration and excessive questioning.

Boston bombings are taking place as i write this post. (very unfortunate and lets hope it doesn't turn out to be some stupid Pakistani).

Now having said that, the US airports will go on special alert for the next couple of weeks/ months. Avoiding them will be a good idea.

Good luck and safe travels.

Best advice on here :)

Thanks...
I cross the border from Windsor to Detroit all the time.
Its was always a hassle. They literally hate us... LOL (Americans)

Now that i am a Canadian, things have gotten a little better.

But Guyz we both have route like DUBAI-London-Toronto , none of us going to US ???

Yar you guys don't get it. We have to get to Montreal, not Toronto and only two airlines would get us there. Qatar airways which was very expensive and the other was AA. Emirates goes through US which I din wanna do. So yeah had to go with AA. All other airlines don't go to montreal :(

Do Pakistani citizen need a Transit Visa to Travel via London ?

No idea. But CommonWealth citizens can have a 8 r 10 hours watchout Visa for London provided if their transit in London is more than 4 hours. The means On spot transit Visa for Us.

My Question was more on the lines of : Do i need a Transit visa if i have a flight that has a layover for a few hours in London ?

Lahore to Dubai and London via Emirates then to Toronto via AA
I booked directly with AA

Baggage allowed:
23 KG X 1 Bag
9 kg x 1 Hand bag

US$ 123 for 2nd bag if you wanna carry more

how about you ? and in how much you got the ticket ? and when you flying ?

Just contacted emirates, they said that I can book extra baggage online, but for that I will need a credit card in my own name :-/ So yeah that can't happen :'(
