Hi there im applicant who living in turkey (also turkey citizen). I think a good file get decision made around 4-5 months. If you are lucky maybe less :) red flags, missing docs, interview etc. can cost delays so it goes up.
Ps: add this timeline 2 month for sponsorship approval

Hello I've gone upfront. It's better cause medical is valid for one year. So you can do shortly before submitting your application.

Hello guys,

I will apply from Vancouver, my Canadian girl friend is sponsoring me and I am Turkish on a graduation work permit that ends in Feb , 2017.

debiting on applying outland or inland. website says 26 months for inland...17 monts for outland. but depends on visa office. In 6 months I can get the PR I guess.

If I apply inland can I apply for work permit during the process to able to work after my visa expires? or I should apply for torusrist visa?
second concern is interview There is always interview part of process? it may be challenging to go to turkey for an interview..is it going to be in Ankara?

any suggestions?

thank you

Outland is generally much faster than inland. I would apply outland, since you have a work permit now already that is good until 2017. If you apply outland soon, you may have your PR by Feb. 2017. If you apply inland, you can apply for an open work permit at the same time, but the processing will be much longer and you don't need a new work permit for almost a year.

They do not always have an interview. Include a lot of evidence that your relationship is genuine, and most likely the interview will be waived.

Thanks canadianwoman. In order to apply inland do I need to be in Turkey?

This forum is massive I am sure all the questions have been answered already many many times but it is hard to find where is where. Everyone opens a new thread for everything.

very useful information on here no doubt about that!

To apply inland the sponsor and the applicant have to be living together in Canada. The application is processed in Canada. To apply outland, the applicant can be outside of Canada, or can be inside Canada as a visitor or on some other type of visa. The application is processed outside of Canada at the visa office responsible for the country of residence or nationality of the applicant (and sometimes in Ottawa).

Outland is generally much faster than inland. Since you are in Canada now, you could apply either way. Outland's advantages: it is faster, usually; you can appeal if the visa is refused; you can leave Canada without jeopardizing the application. Inland's advantages: the applicant can stay in Canada throughout processing - however, since you have a work permit good until 2017, you can stay anyway; you can apply for an open work permit - again, not necessary for you.

Oh I asked it wrong I was going to ask if I need to be in Turkey to apply outland but you explained both of them anyway..thank you very much

have you guys been issued visas? I applied after the new rule on December 2016. This month on June 12 they received file. I was just wondering if the process faster than it used to be, or All same. Thanks!
