Anyone applied in university of Victoria for Fall 2017 Intake?

When do we expect a decision from them? It's already mid-June.

I am sorry to hear that you have been having difficulty securing a supervisor. Selection of applicants depends on whether a faculty member is available to supervise your graduate program, requires more students to join their research team, and/or has the funds to support other graduate students.



I do understand your need to respond to other universities, however, I am unfortunately unable to provide you with a final decision date regarding MEng program admissions at this time. It is not too late to secure a supervisor, so in the meantime, I would recommend that you continue to contact faculty members to see if they will be able to supervise you.



Applicants are expected to contact directly by email those ECE faculty members who are in their anticipated field of research. ECE faculty member’s area of research and individual home pages can be found at http://www.ece.uvic.ca/faculty.shtml.

I have to say this is really unprofessional behavior by the university. We are paying the application fee, providing the required documents yet they are not able to provide a decision on time. Lazy and unprofessional. Moreover, the last date of Visa application for Sep intake is August 1, so if they were willing to admit us, they would have done so. I am considering "Under review by dept" as an unofficial reject.

I never contacted a professor, got recommended by department in 10 days.Applied on 6 Jan for MEng ECE. Hope for best!!
