May question po pala ako sa mga nagbayad ng first semester nila sa Humber...

1. Did you inform them that you will split the year's tuition into two semesters? Or basta nagbayad lang kayo?
2. Any specific contact details you used to communicate with them?

Thinking ahead, naisip ko lang kasi paano magbayad hehe (if I get approved :D )

I applied in Humber pero hindi ko tinuloy. May MyHumber account ka na ba, micmic? Nandun na lahat pati yung payment details eh. I know there's a section where you can choose to pay whole year or split it. May additional $75 split fee pala ang Humber, IIRC. Or if not, you can always contact the international students coordinator.
Hindi ako nagkaproblema sa Centennial eh kasi my international students coordinator assigned to me was the one who arranged it on their end.

Thanks everyone for the very insightful and helpful details. I am about to start my Master's Program at McGill University this fall and the application for permit confuses me so I hope any generous kababayans can help me with my problem.

1. Does the student visa acts as the study permit itself? I'm really confused. Do I have to apply for a separate temporary resident visa or is it 3-in-1 already (student vis + study permit + TRV).
2. I'm currently processing my application online in CIC but there is no requirement indicating that I need to show proof that I have settled my first term tuition and that I have paid rent already. Why is it that some of us here are saying that they supplemented these documents?
3. How do I get in invitation for medical exam?
4. How does one apply for a PGWP is the visa/permit they will issue you is valid only for the duration of your study and you can only start applying for PGWP once you've completed your requirements, which is more likely until the end of your duration.

Thank you very much!

Hi Paula,

1. In your visa application, you will be required to fill out forms. IMM1294 - Application for Study Permit, IMM5257 - Temporary Resident Visa application and the form for family information. So kasama na lahat sa application mo. No need to apply separately, if that's what you're asking.
2. Yes, yung checklist ng CIC is not complete. Notice sa baba may "other documents as needed" or something. Hindi minention na kailangan ng NBI clearance, right? Or your tuition payments etc.? But some documents are submitted as proof that you are a genuine student.
BTW, hindi required na magbayad ka ng any form of tuition before ka mag-apply pero others pay to show intent to study.
Meron akong pinost na checklist ko before. Hanapin ko.
3. You get it from the embassy after you file your application (via email usually).
4. Usually the student visa is issued for the duration of your studies plus 90 days. This is presumably enough time for you to apply for PGWP

EDIT: here's the page where my checklist is :) http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/sa-mga-bisaya-nga-nag-apply-ug-student-permit-network-ta-diri-t238093.0.html;msg4042617#msg4042617

Dear scorpio1641

Thanks very much for the prompt and insightful response. I've checked your check list and I have a few observations.

I logged in to my CIC account and these are the only following things they are asking

1. IMM1294
2. IMM5645
3. Proof of Financial Support
4. Quebec Certificate
5. Request for medical exam
6. Passport
7. Photo
8. Acceptance letter

I cannot seem to find elsewhere the application form for TRV (IMM5257) and Study permit form (IMM52548). These are the forms you mentioned in your checklist that i am not seeing in my CIC application.

Alos, request for medical exam, I'm having confusion with this part stating "Indicate if you would like CIC to send you instructions and forms for a medical examination by filling out a Request for medical exam form." I thought they would be the one requesting it from me? ???

Waaaaaaahhhh!!! Nag-email na si MyCIC... and it says: There have been no updates to your application (S300936520) since you last checked your MyCIC account. Thank you for your patience. ;D So I guess more patience pa daw :D

Hey Paula! Congratulations on your acceptance to McGill :) TRV application is located at the "Optional Section" when you're looking at the my cic interface. It is at the last part of the application where it says "upload schedule 1" Basically, most of the forms can be searched and downloaded (just make sure you download the most updated one) via their website. Once a visa officer finds your submitted application genuine, then the medical request will be sent to you and you'll be notified via email. Don't forget to upload your most recent NBI clearance too :)

Thanks wandermom and micmic!

Konting tiis na lang micmic and wandermom, sure akong malapit na PPR nyo! Wish you all the best! ;)

The forms can be downloaded here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/student.asp?countrySelect=PH#applications
I'm not very familiar with online applications coz mine was via paper.
wow may bagong form pala, yung Manila Visa Office instructions, weird, it wasn't there yet when I applied :D http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5836E.pdf

You need to request for a medical exam form, I'm guessing, cause you need IMM1017 (Medical Exam Request) to present to the designated doctor for your medicals

Hello mga kababayan. Gaano katagal dapat yung pera na nasa bank? Pwede na ba ang 4-6 months? :)

Hi there! Pwede na ang 4-6 months. At least 4 months lang naman nsa account mo yung money required ng CIC. :)

Weird lang, tingnan niyo yung bagong checklist put up in March 2015. 24 months bank statement na ang hinihingi tas lahat ng documents daw dapat original

Hi Scorpio, ang sabi dito, "You must submit evidence of sufficient funds to cover your travel, first year tuition and expenses while in Canada (as well as costs for your dependents if applicable). This evidence should include, but is not limited to, financial documents such as income tax documents, bank records for the past 24 months (bank books and statements) and fixed deposit."

Correct me if I am wrong, pero sa pagkaka-intindi ko was may "FIRST..." yung statement ng CIC...so, parang they will still follow the original guidelines of 4 months in the bank...additional na requirements as evidence is parang yung account na i-present mo should be in the account of not less than 24 months but not necessarily the full amount that is requested for the 1 year stay in canada. :-[ FRUSTRATING AND WORRIED AKO MASYADO]]]

Baka may mga application na yung deposit nila was held sa newly open bank account...

di ko rin alam eh. The statement seems straightforward to me "should include ... bank statements for the past 24 months"
Don't know lang how it will affect applications filed before March 2015 when the checklist was published. Nung nag-VFS ako, inaccept naman lahat ng papers ko, yung NBI clearance lang ang pina-ulit.

I don't think they will ask you for the 24months since you have submitted before the new requirements unless incomplete ang requirements mo, you will be treated in new requirements.
