Another questions din po pala. Ano po ba ialalagay ko sa accompanying family member (for my soon-to-be-wife) sa question na
"Why is your family member going to Canada?" Visit po ba or Work (other)?

"Does your family member want to work in one of the following jobs?"
health sciences worker
clinical laboratory worker
patient attendant in nursing or geriatric homes
medical student admitted to Canada to attend university
medical elective and physician on short term assignment
teacher of primary or secondary schools or other teachers of small children
domestics worker, someone who gives in-home care to children, the elderly and the disabled
day nursery worker
- Yes or No po ba? Alin po ba dapat?

These questions go to SP holders na sinama yung kanilang spouses po sana. TIA po!

hmmm based sa pagkaintindi ko sa ibang ka- forumates dito ang ginawa nila inapply nila yung husband nila ng OWP (di ko sure kung paano mag apply neto since wala naman po ako accompanying family member ibig sabihin po ata neto is mag work yung wife to be mo while you are studying there. kaya they are asking you if for visit or work yung intention ng wife mo dun sa Canada kaya mo siya isasama, pag visit po kasi limited lang yung time na nasa Canada siya while sa working naman all throughout ng studies mo kasama m siya. the other paragraph tinatanong ka po kung saang field niya gsto mag work

It really depends po kasi kung magkano yung tuition mo per year. According po sa CIC website, if you are accompanying a family member you should have a minimum of "$4,000 for a 12-month period (or $333 per month)" plus tuition mo po for 12 months or tuition for 2 semester sa bank.

mas maganda po kung nakapangalan sayo yung properties para ma prove na may strong ties ka tlga sa pilipinas basta ipakita mo lang lahat ng properties and assets mo sa embassy. yung akin kasi father ko yung sponsor ko I showed them almost 55K USD plus 5 land tittles under his name and car properties under my mother's name. BTW yung tution ko in a year is 12,000 CAD.

Yung tuition ko po kase 26k tapos may discount na 3.5k so bale 22.5k. Tapos meron akong cash on hand na 7.5k CAD for the deposit para makuha ko yung Letter of Acceptance, so bale 15k na lang yung balance ko. Yung remaining balance naman po ay payable for 12 months at 1.28k each, no interests. 10k plus 4k for me and my soon-to-be-wife so 14k show money.

So I need around 29k CAD as show money, tama po ba? Yung nasa bank ko po ay around 39k CAD po. Sapat na po yata yun. Hehe

wala pa po update sa application ko eh, nagpa medical ako nung lunes until now di pa na foforward ng st. lukes yung medical result ko according to them 7-10 days pa raw bago iforward so most probably po im hoping by next week okay na.

Gusto ko po sana yung mga successful applicants yung sumagot kung paano nila sinagot yung dalawang tanong na yun para malaman ko po kung alin dun yung may malaking chance na ma approve. Hehe!

I finally figured it out na.

Your spouse or common-law partner may apply for a work permit if:

- you are a full-time student at:
- a public post-secondary institution, such as a college or university or collège d’enseignement général et professionnel (CEGEP) in Quebec
- a private post-secondary institution that operates under the same rules and regulations as a public institution, and receives at least 50 percent of its financing for its overall operations from government grants (currently, only private college-level educational institutions in Quebec qualify) or
- a Canadian private institution authorized by provincial statute to confer degrees
- you have a valid study permit

Therefore, I conclude that I should get a study permit first before having my spouse apply for a work permit. Sorry for being so slow.

Hi Floje, try to check your school, it should be one of the designated learning institutions for you to be granted with PGWP after graduating. Yan ang pagkakaalam ko, baka hindi ka ma bigyan ng PGWP eligibility after mo matapos ang schooling mo. I think may link sa cic website sa lists of schools that are DLI.

sa mismong univ na papasukan mo kasama yun sa iquoquote sayo s miscellenaeous kasi di ka nila pede iadmit til wala ka nun kaya obligado ka magbayad sa univ na papasukan mo. Un ang alam ko kasi ung VIU nasa BC din and ksama sa letter offer un skin.

Thank you for your reply. Actually, that's what im expecting too. But they did not include the health insurance in the quotation, they instead recommended guard.me (health insurance provider) that costs US$5/day that's why im looking for a cheaper alternative. Whats your health insurance provider?

Yes! It is in the designated learning institutions list. I also asked the admission officer of the school na rin at sabi nya, i'm permitted to work while studying at saka they also offer internship placements that are usually unpaid but would lead to paid positions.
