Same 3-5 working days
gave my passport on 19 hope to receive it tomorrow

UPDATE: just got an email that my status in mycic has been updated and there was a new message containing POE Introduction letter

Yay congratulations! :D

@itsats: Still no email for me. I'm preparing myself to accept the fact that I'll have to go to school in September if visa isn't denied. :(

Same with me. :'( :'( :'( :'( It just breaks my heart how long we have to wait compared to other countries. September is too far away. I put my life on hold for this so I can focus preparations on leaving for January. I've prepared a year for this.

Hi everyone! :) ngayon ko lang ulit nacheck tong forum because I was so excited buying winter clothes XD and just basically spent my days shopping for things that I will need abroad (because I want to avoid buying stuff there since it's hella expensive)

To those na mag-aapply pa lang:

I DID NOT SUBMIT MY IELTS AND ANY ACADEMIC DOCUMENTS during my VISA ONLINE APPLICATION.

I only submitted those when I was acquiring for a school :) so I don't think that it will be a basis for refusal, ang importante is the LETTER OF ACCEPTANCE from a RECOGNIZED INSTITUTION sa Canada.
I also think that, it would be better to prepare a one page SOP only, since they have a lot of papers on hand. Remember to make it BRIEF and COHERENT. :)

Good luck sa inyo! <3 See you all in Canada :)

Sino dito ang stationed sa Vancouver? :)

Hi wondergirl1992. Congrats!!! I'm a newbie in this forum. I applied for an SP last Nov. 19, 2014 (thru may agency) and got a confirmation from the embassy on Nov. 21. Me and hubby received a medical request from them on Nov. 24. Had our med exams on Dec. 9, 2014 yet due to very tight sched of the panel doctor here in cebu. The doc forwarded our med results on Dec. 11 and until now we have not received any update from the embassy. Do you think, receiving a medical request is a good sign that our application will get approved?

I'm just wondering why most of the applicants in this forum took IELTS. Do i really need to take too? Btw, we plan to settle in Vancouver too :)

hello! mag update lang ako. I'm already here on student visa. I applied for OWP ng husband ko and Open study permit for my kid last August but they were refused nung September because walang NBI and birth certificate attached (online application will not ask for these docs so careful lang for those na aapply palang). I was heartbroken kasi I wanted them na sumunod na sana agad.

We resubmitted the application online nung September 29. We added all the papers they needed, yung docs on the previous application and updated the bank certs. Today, we received the email for passport requests!

Good luck to all who are applying for the Winter intake. Baunin ang init ng Pilipinas kasi -17 ngayon dito sa Alberta :)

If it's meant to be, it will be ;)

Hi mumay14! I'm also applying for an SP and plans to bring along my hubby muna. We plan to leave the kids behind muna until maka-settle kami dun but I'm really worried na hindi sila ma approve. How old are your kids? Ilan sila? Thanks :)

Hi. May nakapag-apply na po ba dito sa MacEwan University? :)

Was forced to ask to defer to September :'( I hope by some miracle my visa gets approved next week and I manage to get back in for January!!

we are on the same boat. it's a miracle if we get it by next week. i'm going to defer mine when my school opens on january 2 after the holidays. i was supposed to go september 2014 but because of some requirements, i was forced to defer it to january 2015. and now i'm goin to defer it again on september 2015.

Sabi naman ng school ko, if my visa gets approved next week and I can make it to Canada by January 9, then I can still enter the program! So that's another little bit of hope there.

Merry Christmas to everyone here in the forum!

Do you happen to know a pgwp eligible school in vancouver? Was considering Langara College but i was really disappointed when their representative told me just last 22dec that they are no longer accepting applications for may2015 intake of my chosen course. I just received my IELTS results. And all has been set. The next intake will be on september pa, antagal pa. Can anyone help me? Nakakaiyak lang isipin kasi constant nman communication namin ng rep ng school tapos biglang puno na raw :(

^ try mo Acsenda School of Management?
or look at this list? http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/study-institutions-list.asp

happy holidays guys!

ask ko lang po sa mga nakakuha ng study permit... meron po bang conditions na nakaindicate sa inyo? as per CIC website, I thought pwede po tayong magwork at least 20hrs a week... but then sa Study Permit ko po kasi may condition...
unless authorized, prohibited from engaging employment in Canada please advise po... thanks a lot... =)

Friends, just like to share. :D

So I submitted my application to another school I'm interested in and after around three weeks, I got my letter of offer. I guess my Simbang Gabi wish partly came true while I checked my email on my way to church on the last day ;D

I have a few questions though and I hope the veterans can shed light to this (I read all the post from page one and please forgive me ig I missed this detail) :

1. It's a four-semester program but the letter only states the duration for 60 weeks and only from fall 2015 until winter 2016. Should I email them regarding this or is this a standard issue?
Edit: It says Sept 8 2015-Oct 25 2016 which is technically 14 months or so and can accommodate 4 semesters so I guess that'll work right? Or no? :o

2. On the last part of the letter, it says:

"This letter should be submitted to the Canadian Embassy, High Commissions or Consulate
when you apply for authorization to study in Canada. You are required to submit a copy of your
valid study permit and passport upon arrival. "

--So does this mean that I don't have to pay anything outright and I could start applying now? My deadline to confirm is on May and deadline to pay is on June. I mean it could be great if I can already apply without putting a partial payment for the tuition as it reduces the hassle if(and hopefully not) my application gets denied. I already have a multiple entry anyways so I guess I can fly there and process everything.

I hope you guys can help me out. :)

Happy Holidays guys! I'm still waiting for Ryerson's reply on January before I make my final decision on which path to take. Wish me luck! :p
