Anyone applied a Student Permit from Philippines?

Hello! Would anyone of you know if there is such a thing as 'discount on tuition fee' if your school application went through an agent/consultant? Meron kasi akong naalala na pinakita yung isang consultant dati na iba ang rate for that school kasi ka-tie up daw nila. Is that possible? Thanks!

Tomoh you need your LOA to apply for a study permit. But you need to meet all the school reqs 1st in order to get your LOA (academic reqs, English proficiency, etc)

Thanks aly911. May isa pa po akong concern. Nag inquire po kasi ako sa norquest college about sa course na kukunin ko.. the registrar replied na wala daw admission requirements for that course.. Non-Credit course po pala yun. Possible po ba yun na padalhan nila ako ng LOA kahit non credit course lang po siya ? Thanks

Occupational health and safety management, non-credit course po siya at 4 months lang po yung itatagal ng course

Hi scorpio1641. pay mo na lang the first year. Kasi ako i just paid the 1st semester derecho, no more $2,600 fee. Tho i think if you do that, madeduct din naman sya sa tuition mo. They'll issue your LOA and payment receipt once you made the payment. For you not to ask another LOA, bayad ka na lang derecho ng 1 yr. less waiting time. And yes, centennial din ako!

Hi sweetnovember14! Thanks for these tips. Will will surely keep this in mind when I am in the stage of making my SOP. Nga pala, need pa ba ipa assess yung TOR/Diploma sa WES or para lang yun sa immigrant?

@ scorpio1641 Sa ontario ka rin pala.. I will browse nga rin yung Centennial College, sana may course na available in IT. Naku, lahat ng work experience ko involve retail sales. Though later part ng career ko, around 3 years, nasa middle management position na ako. All in all, nasa 7 years experience na rin.

I think you can apply for a business course, granted mahaba na ang experience mo in sales / retail. You really just have to make a good SOP.

NurseK12, are you getting a student visa to immigrate ba? Mukhang masyadong short ang six months course eh. Try at least for a one year course if your intention is to get a PR.

You don't need sp f less than 6mos ang duration ng program mo. Pero hindi ka rin qualified to immigrate. Try to look for a 1yr or 2yrs program.

So need ko po humanap ng course na 1 year na full time to be qualified for immigration ? Thanks po sa mga suggestion

Get a one year course to get a 1 year post graduate work permit. Pag 2 year course, 3 years work permit.

Alam ko may bridging programs pag nursing. Di lang ako masyadong familiar. Or you can take a health related post graduate course.

Thanks po. Ask ko lang din po kung sakaling kumuha po ako ng 1 year course. At naka obtain ng 1 year post grad work permit magwwork po ba dapat immediately or pwede din umuwi po muna ng pinas ?

San ba ok na school na medyo mababa lang tuition for Accounting program 1 year lng , mas prefer ko sana health related course kaya lang as per my research here sa forum dapat daw related sa natapos & work.

You can't work off-campus pag part tym student ka lng. F you enrol as full time student, allowed ka magwork max 20hrs/week pag skul days at full time pag break. Anyway, you can check cic website for more info about the conditions of study permit.

So I got word from some of my best professors that they cannot give me a recommendation letter because their advice is that it has to come from my thesis advisers. The professors I asked were the ones that I had great relationship and at the same time did their PHD in one of the top 10 Unis of the world. Unfortunately, my thesis topic back then wasn't related to their specialization. Not that I'm downplaying my advisers but I thought that my original choice is better since they know me more and the still remember me even if it was already almost a decade since I graduated The bad news is that one of my advisers is not in our school anymore and I cannot find her! Waaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!! I need atleast two reference persons so now I'm panicking as I want to lodge my school application within the week
