Nakakatuwa magbasa ng threads kasi very supportive ang bawat isa. Lakas niyo makagood vibes. Anyways, i got here kasi im planning to apply for student visa in canada. LPN sana 2 years, okay ba yun? I have so many questions sana matulungan niyo ko. ???
It would depend on which school you'd attend ... In BC, it takes 3 years to finish a nursing program on average...
Yes, each school has different requirements for English proficiency, which usually depends on the program you're applying into. For example, business programs usually require a higher score. Technically, if you can't meet the eligibility requirements for your program, you can't be accepted into that school. Not being accepted into a Canadian school won't allow you to apply for a visa....
Yes, aside from a physical examination, they'd also take an X-ray and your blood sample.
Do you mean requirements for IELTS? http://www.philippines.idp.com/ielts/registration_procedure.aspx
Not sure what this means...
5. Balak kasi namin nun friend ko sa ontario or BC? Ano kaya mas okay?
It depends on which city you plan to settle in... Generally speaking, people like to go to BC because the weather is more moderate. Ontario is notorious for its harsh winters (reaching up to -25C on average).
6. Mahirap ba yung ielts? Yung writing daw kasi mahirap.
I have a sister who took the IELTS, while I took the TOEFL. She said writing was easy and speaking portion was a little more challenging. For me, TOEFL was the opposite. Main difference is that IELTS is a test for British English while TOEFL is a test for American English. Most Canadian schools accept both, so it's up to you to choose which you think you'd do better in.
7. Yung sa fund, mas okay ba pag may sariling account or pwede account ng parent? Mas malaki ba ang chance pag sariling account or it doesnt matter?
It depends on who would shoulder the majority of your expenses. Well, the more funds you have in total, the better.
8. Pag gagawa ako ng sariling account dapat ba matagal na nasakin yun, pano pag bagong gawa pa lang yung bank account?
I don't think they'd know whether or not the account is new... I don't think that would show up on the Bank Certificate.
9. Wala akong experience sa hospital, nagtraining ako ng 3 months sa lungs center last sept to dec 2012 pero yun lung.
Some nursing programs prefer that you have experience but it's not usually a requirement for acceptance.
Andami kong naisip na tanong, pero for now yan na po muna. Sana po matulungan niyo po ako. Please enlighten me. I need your help.
Pray lang ng pray, with god nothing is impossible. Always have a treasurse of trust with god. God bless us all!
Got email awhile ago from CIC that states "Your application to study or work in Canada has been approved" and Typeermit-WP/Permis-PT. Received this email exactly 1 hour (11:00PM) before the deadline of the last date of late attendance indicated on my LOA i.e. Jan.10, 2014.....feeling ko tuloy sinasadya ng CIC na gawin ito, dahil kahit na anong follow-up email ang gawin ko, ayaw sumagot....ngayon lang sumagot after 15days of my last email sa kanila, case processing pa yun. base sa mga kasabayan ko dito na similar timelines ko eh nagdatingan ang visa nila before mag Christmas for Jan.6 start....seems me mga loop holes talaga sa tingin ko ang embassy processing eh...bakit hindi nila ma track na TIME SENSITIVE ANG STUDENT VISA while they can see all the details sa LOA natin...ganoon ba talaga ka weak ang processes nila?? considering naka computerize pa yun?? parang dapat eh me simple alarm na ilagay that will tell "hey this will expire soon hence need to attend asap..." buhayyyy nga naman OO, sa kailan di ko na sya iniintay doon naman dadating....but THANK YOU LORD!!!!cocoagirl said:Any updates from those waiting?
Sa mga nag-iintay, DON'T WAIT but just prepare and PRAY...at maging busy...dadating din yan...in GOD's time.

i already have a degree here in the Phils and na-evaluate na by WES. the course i'm planning to take is just a certification, does anyone know kung pwede ako makakuha ng work permit, like off-campus?
TIA!
Thanks @star!! malapit na rin kayo. Just got here in Toronto last Saturday, Jan.18, the best birthday gift for my daughter and the first snow fall nya, super lamiggg.. I did'nt receive her LOI on email but when I got the stamped passport sa VFS andoon yun LOI nya hindi ko napansin pero nilagay ko na lang sa portfolio folder ko. Good thing nailagay ko doon kasi tinanong din ng IO sa Vancouver POE and she greeted her Happy Birthday then ni-lead nya sa amin yun room to get the Student Permit.starlettedouze said:Congrats, rosamae!
Yes, you need to request a new LOA from your school. You can just advise the officer at POE that your visa was issued late hence the need to defer. As for your dependent, if you applied for an SP then I assume an LOI will be issued too.
Your stamped passport should arrive within the next few days. Enjoy preparing for your trip!
thanks, humdrumdum. i'm thinking of getting a certificate program from a university listed in the site you sent. everything's checked out (the program is going to last more than 6 months) my concern is that, will i be qualified for a WP even if it's going to be a certificate and not a degree? i'm looking at being able to work while study to make the most of my time since with certificate programs, there will be days where i won't have classes.humdrumdum said:For full-time international students (20 hrs. of classes per week, generally speaking), there are three types of work permits: co-op, off-campus, and post-graduate.
If your program requires you to do work as part of the curriculum, you have to get the co-op work permit. You can apply for the co-op work permit together with your student permit before you come to Canada but you have to provide school records that you are indeed required to have co-op work.
Off-campus work permits can only be issued if your school is listed as a participating institution and you have stayed in Canada for at least 6 months. If you've started your program at September, you can apply for a permit by March.
Post-graduate work permits allow you to stay in Canada for a couple more years to earn work experience right after you graduate.
If you find work on-campus though, you do not need a work permit.
