Anyone applied a Student Permit from Philippines?

I dont know if someone here has the same timeline as me, pero here is mine:

Submitted Documents: Feb 28,2013
Medical request: March 7,2013
Medical Forwarded: April 1, 2013
Visa Granted: October 30,2013

Ang visa validity ko is only 1 year, Expiry date nya is on October 14,2014.

Although wala pa yung actual passport and documents ko. I found out that I was approved via email. I also wanted to ask nga if bago na ba courier ng embassy? The last time I remember it, Air21 yung nagpick up ng docu ko. I read na DHL na daw or 2GO yung courier? Im really confused (and very excited at the same time) kung bakit wala pa yung mga documents ko. I'm dying to book a ticket so yea ;A;

After 15 weeks, finally received MY MEDICAL REQUEST TODAY!!!!

they're asking for LOA , probably the one with revised start date.

Sabay pa ata tayo mag medical ahh...tama ba ako kasi Oct.29 nag lodge ako ng application ko ng 4:30PM then di mabasa ang bar code kaya ang nangyari nag re-encode ako sa VFS office at ako na lang ang tao doon hahahhah, at yung mga staff ng VFS nag-iintay lang sa akin na matapos akong mag-encode. Natapos ako mag-encode mga 5:30PM then habang nire-review nila ang mga docs ko at sa anak ko. Then mga 6:15PM me na-receive na ako text sa kanila na na-received na agad ng CIC. Kinabukasan mga 2:30PM me email yun CIC ng Medical form namin for medical.Tama ba medical na yun susunod na step after mag lodge? Nagtataka lang kasi ako dahil bakit medical agad ako eh kaka-submit ko lang, ibig ba sabihin nun na-review na agad nila yung application ko at mga documents?? Paper-based lang ako eh.
Di pa tuloy ako nagpa-medical next day kasi nagtataka pa ako at me monthly period pa kasi...

GLORY TO GOD! I FINALLY RECEIVED MY PASSPORT WITH VISA AND LOI !!! AHHHHH And I was so worried kasi ang tagal! God is the greatest talaga. He makes everything happen according to plan. Ipapa-authenticate ko nalang yung transcripts of record ko, then alis na ako by next week!!!


Note to other applicants: Keep the faith, consistency in following up and pray. Also, kahit ma reject, try ulit! basta ma-meet lahat ng mga hinihingi nila, then they will see ur willing to do everything to go to canada. I was rejected 4 times, and here I am, APPROVED FINALLY. But all will not be possible if not for God. So keep the faith, and pray. ;D

Hi!

I'm joining the bandwagon for solidarity's sake. Hopefully I can submit my SP application as early as this week. I got admissions for Masters in McGill University (Montreal) supposedly for Fall term but was unable to work things out earlier due to finances (even with a very decent graduate fellowship award). Now with things somewhat settled, I had my admissions deferred for Winter Term and I already got my CAQ last week. Even preparing and finalizing the documents and requirements now gives me the feeling of being in a roller-coaster already, and I would expect a more bumpy ride from here on. How I wish the approval would be out as soon as possible.

I just have to keep the faith!

p.s. Napaisip lang ako kung sinu-sino mula sa forum na to ang nasa McGill ngayon.

nag apply ako sa Humber college 1st ng August 2013, then 2 weeks after my acceptance letter nako so ang ginawa ko nag online application ako sa canada.
September 7 na complete ko na lahat ang requirements ko and naisend thru online.
Oct 28 pinadala na ung letter para sa medical examinations ko and NBI clearance.
-nov 7 ung medical exam ko
- problem lang ung site ata ng canada ngaun is under maintenance kaya di ko maipadala ung nbi clearance ko. though i got until november 30 to submit pero mas ok pag na send ko na sana ng maaga


enrolled nako sa humber, class starts sa January 6 2014. do you think ill make it?? :|

Hi, perhaps you can inquire about other ways of submitting your docs so you can send your NBI clearance already. Although Im sure they will fix the site naman immediately as a lot of applicants have submitted online. You'll make it to Jan - I imagine they are prioritizing students for Jan intake at this time. I think there's enough time for you to make it. Try mo lang ulit I'm sure di nila patatagalin na hindi accessible yung site ng CIC. good luck po! sana everything goes well. We are on the same boat. Magpapadefer din si hubby kasi medyo nashort ng funds so hopefully everything goes well too. God bless!

Is it true na binago na ng Canada ung policy nila sa mga International students na halos 2x ung tuition fee compared sa mga Canadian. Nabasa ko kase sa isang site na halos same nlang ang tuition. Please enlighten me. And may suggestion ba kayo na ano magandang diploma courses na i take ng BSNursing Grad and a Registered Nurse as well. Thank you

Its me again, im leaving on the 22nd already, kaso may napansin ako sa application ko, hindi sinoli ng canadian embassy yung CAQ ko (im going to quebec kasi) and im kind of worried kasi baka hanapin sa akin yun? ang binigay ko pa naman is yung ooriginal althoug may duplicate copy naman ako. anyone here experienced the same as me? na hindi sinoli yung CAQ?

Hi Sam!

Suggestion would be to take up a course still relevant to your field. Something na pwede mo justify kung bakit yun ang course na kukunin mo. Look around, check out sites and see the courses you'd be interested in na relevant or "pang upgrade" sa pagiging nurse mo.

As for tuition fee, you will be able to view the tuition fees of your schools of choice, under international students. Wala pa ako nabalitaan about tuition but if it's true, then that's good news!

Its me again, im leaving on the 22nd already, kaso may napansin ako sa application ko, hindi sinoli ng canadian embassy yung CAQ ko (im going to quebec kasi) and im kind of worried kasi baka hanapin sa akin yun? ang binigay ko pa naman is yung ooriginal althoug may duplicate copy naman ako. anyone here experienced the same as me? na hindi sinoli yung CAQ?

Hello po. Sabi nga po sa website, hindi nagsasauli ng documents ang embahada. Tapos nung pinadala po kasi sa akin ang approval letter ng CAQ ko via email (not the CAQ itself), eto po ang sinabi sa letter: "We recommend that you keep the copy of your CAQ for studies marked 'REQUÉRANT' since you could be asked for it by your educational institution in Québec." Though hindi naman nila sinabi kung hahanapin yan ng Immigrations sa point of entry sa Canada.

Kaya ang ginawa ko naman po ay yung approval letter ng CAQ ang ipinasa ko, hindi yung mismong CAQ (dahil hindi ko pa sya natatanggap ngayon) dahil sinabi naman na sapat na raw yung approval letter na yun para sa pagpasa ng study permit application. [Kakapasa ko lang po kanina...]
