Hi guys! :)

As you can see sa timeline ko sa side, I got my visa last November pa. Pero, di ako tumuloy. Tapos, my parents and I booked tickets to visit my sister and her family sa Toronto (I have a multiple-entry visitor's visa as well, valid til 2017). Super kabado ako kasi iniisip ko baka ma-question ako pag land ko dahil di ko ginamit yung Student Visa ko, and takot rin ako kasi baka i-cancel nila yun. Sayang naman, kasi I plan on studying sometime next year siguro, since the S-1 I got is valid til 2015 pa naman.

So ayun. I arrived last Sunday dito sa Toronto. Di man lang pinansin yung student visa ko. As in tatak lang sa passport, standard port of entry questions. Yaaaaay. Sayang lang pala yung pagka kabado ko for the past few months.

Good luck to everyone na nag-aapply! Parang okay naman ang visa issuance rate sa atin. :)

Hi everyone,

Quick question on proof of financial support -

I am applying for a student visa with my husband and kid accompanying me. My mother (Canadian citizen) is paying for my tuition and fees.
Based on the CIC website, required funds is 1st year tuition + 10k for me, 4k for spouse and 3k for child.

Since my mother will be shouldering my educational costs (will provide letter of support, financial docs), the required funds from me and my family is $17k? We already paid half sem tuition amounting to $5k.

Thanks!

@starlettedouze I think your mother will have to provide proof that she has more than 17,000CAD. She has to prove that she is financial well enough to sponsor your education as well as the cost of living of your entire family.

Thanks, DocRZ. Yup, she has more than that plus her income is pretty stable. Just wanted to know more or less how much our family should have under our name, if 17k is enough on top of the financial support of my mom Ü

Hey guys,

I applied for student visa online from S.Korea but since the embassy here does not deal with visa, mine is also processed in Makati, Philippines. Here's my profile/timeline:

Visa Office: Makati, Philippines
App. Filed: 18-05-2013
Med's Request: 11-06-2013
Med's Done: 12-06-2013
Passport Req: 05-07-2013
VISA ISSUED: WAITING

I FedEx-ed my passport last Monday and right now I'm still waiting for it to come back & my LOI as well.

Good luck to all of us who are going to Canada this fall!

@ Ultrawax: Legally speaking, you cannot work. You can only apply for the OCWP 6 months after the start of your classes. But of course, you can do a little "rackets" here and there". ;)

thanks docRZ.. unfortunately i dont know any rackets.. any suggestions? nasa dumating na ung visa mo soon..

@ultrawaxx Try walking dogs or babysitting. Thanks for the well wishes. Today starts my 13th week since I applied. Next week I will have all the valid reasons to follow up on my application. I'm scared that my application must have been misplaced or ignored.

thanks. hope to see you in Alberta this Fall.

Hoping that DocRZ and I will get our visa's at the soonest possible time. Still no medical request.

yup.. I will pray for ur visas. especially for DocRZ. I am just a couple of weeks ahead of him in filing for visa request. I still remember when my visa is still in the process I always ask him alot of questions and what are the things to do and he answered all of my queries. hope you can have ur visas soon.. any update Doc?

@msladybug Sad to say, I called IOM Manila and they say they cannot conduct any medical examination without a request from the embassy since I am only on a TRV application. So we really have to wait for the request. :(

@ultrawaxx89 Thanks very much! Sent 2 inquiries to the embassy, one via the case-specific webform and one under the general inquiry. Got autoreplies. Hopefully the word URGENT can make the email more visible and be acted upon with priority.

@DocRZ, that's what I did before, I typed the word URGENT at the very start of the message.
@ultrawax, I think God just answered our prayers. CEM finally emailed DocRZ. :D :D :D

hopefully this will be start of good things for online applicants! Answered prayer nga! At sana tuloy-tuloy na hanggang makarating ng Canada... msladybug kailangan pa natin ng konting tiyaga sa prayers... and thanks din sa mga isinasama kami sa prayers nila.

@ultrawax What kind of tests are done during the medical exam? May thorough physical exam ba na kailangang nude ka? Hehehe! Traumatizing kasi un when I experienced it in UP when I was a freshman in college...

sa st.lukes ako.. maganda dun.. hehe first test is xray, then lab test (tb, blood test, urinalysis, syphilis and HIV test) then physical exam.. dito kana mag huhubad kua.. hehe talagang thorough ung test.. buti nalang straight ung nag test sakin.. kaya di masyado awkward ung feeling. may sheet of paper kadin na sasagutan dun mga health background mo.. sagut mu lahat no.. para wala nang tanong tanong.. haha may interview din dito.. be careful sa interiew kasi tinitignan ung consistency nang sagot mo.. ulit ulit lang ung tganung so u have to be careful. goodluck:)

Great and helpful tips. Thank you very much ultrawax!
