Hello,

I'm new in this forum. I search CPNIS and found your post way back. Im seeking for help about CPNIS, I wanted to use their services and I'm in my 2nd package now. I just have 2nd doubts coz they are charging too much. Did you also use this consultant? I need to get some feed back on how they handle applications to get immigrant visa. Hope you can help me with this matter.

Thanks.

You and your wife can go together in Canada. One has to apply for the study permit, while the other will have to apply for a TRV or even a work permit if qualified.

However if you are planning to study and has already entered Canada, You would have to apply for a study permit OUTSIDE canada. You cannot obtain a study permit from within Canada. Only renewal of study permit are allowed. You can check other information from the CIC website, and/or explore other threads from this forum.

Goodluck and have a great day! :)
Hi bigkahuna,
It seems that you know a lot of canada immigration rules. i would like to seek an advise regarding my situation also.

I am currently here in Canada and was granted a study permit. My family did not accompany me and I would like to get them here sana. Do you know the process? Do I need to apply for a TRV and work permit for my husband and study permits for my children?

any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Shaja,

There was another member of the forum (also filipino) who had the same situation as you are now. Her husband was granted a study permit and his spouse was granted TRV.

Your husband can just apply for a TRV or Work Permit. Although, Work Permit needs some more documents and your husband needs to check if he is eligible (I forgot the details but you can check the CIC website about it). About your children, you can check in which category they would fit (PLEASE SEE BELOW):

These information are copied (verbatim) from the CIC website...

Pre-school/Kindergarten: no study permit required.

Primary and secondary school (age 6-18): open study permit. The application can be made using the same form as the accompanying parent's study or work permit. You do not require an acceptance letter from the child's school in Canada. Please note: children accompanying parents who are visitors in Canada (ie. they do not have a study or work permit) are not eligible for an open study permit.

University and college (age 18-22): study permit required. Follow the standard process to apply for a study permit. The application for the child's study permit should be made on a separate form from the parent's application.
Studying in Quebec: In addition to the standard requirements, minor applicants destined for Quebec will need a Certificat d'acceptation du Québec (Certificate of Acceptance or CAQ) from the Government of Quebec. For more information on how to apply for a CAQ visit the immigration website of the Government of Quebec.

Good luck! have a great day! :)

Hi bigkahuna

Congrats! You had received your visa. May I know the link on how to apply online
because I dont know if I entered thru the link correctly. There are certain
nationality who are allowed to apply online. Correct me if I am wrong. May I
know your tel/ cel number or fb so that I could ask you some questions regarding
applications?

Thank you for answering my query.
