Out of curiosity...

Has anyone here who used the study scheme as pathway to Canadian PR made it successfully? I am very interested in gathering different response, like crowd-sourcing or pool of info that can be valuable to us hopeful's and at the same time give light to our other hopeful kababayan.

Maybe you can use this format:

1. What program and level did you pursue? (i.e. Master's degree/PG Diploma, Certificate); which Field (i.e. Culinary, Business, Finance, health)
2. Which university/college did you go to and what province was it located?
2. What is the duration of your program and how long did it take you to complete your studies?
3. How long did it take for you to land a job upon completion of your studies?
4. What stream did you undergo after studying (EE, CEC, FSW, PNP)
5. Did you successfully receive ITA/ Permanent Resident Status and owe it to your Canadian studies?

Hope we can have a lot of response on this. This will tremendously help all those who are still doubtful about shelling out so much money with studying in Canada in possibility of easier PR.

2 katrabaho ko isa from Nigeria at isa from China. Both enter though student visa and got their PR. My boss' family is though student visa. Wife enter as a student with scholarship and boss was with her. Few years later he became my boss.

Thanks for looking into my case. I forgot to mention that I had 2 years work experience as a Nursing-Aide in a hospital. Will that be considered as a work employment which would solidify my case when applying? Also, what type of letter do I need from the hospital with what you said on this line you wrote (AND someone to accept you once you are done with your diploma)? Will it still be a valid support since it's not a recent work experience?

I have a question like for example I applied for an 8 months program study in Canada 8 months din ba yung validity ng Study Permit, or may pasobra na binibigay? Im planning to apply for a work permit after.

Be on the safe side and think of it as 8 months. If you think about it, if one year lang program mo, kelangan pag graduate mo, kinabukasan may work ka na para maka 1 year work experience ka and apply for CEC ;D

So here's my situation right now. (Para isang bagsak na lang at di na ko masyado mangulit. hehe. medyo matagal na din ako sa forum na to)


1. Nagtourist visa ako sa norway. Nagapply ng student visa with-in the country. Pinagstay nila ako dun ng lang for almost 2 years at di ako pinayagan umalis habang wala pang results. Wala ako pinahahawakan habang nandun ako. Ang meron lang ako ay 2 refusal letter. Yung una nadeny ako. Nagappeal. Naextend ang stay sa Norway. Nadeny ulit at bumalik na ng pinas. Sa halos 2 taon na yun, wala akong ginawa. Hindi ako nagtrabaho at naghintay lang ako para sa mga papel ko. Might be grounds for refusal?


2. Graduate ako ng Hospitality Management Pagkabalik ko dito. Nagsales ako sa business ng parents ko for 1 year. At lumipat para magahente ng koche. 3 bwan lang ako tumagal at bumalik na ulit ako sa pagttrabaho sa Hotel. Sales ulit ng mga events naman. 6 months na ko sa kumpanya at ang kumuha s akin ay ang alma mater ko din noong college. Ang Plano kong kunin ay Hospitality Management. Hindi ba grounds of refusal na paiba iba ako ng career path? Anong magandang SOP para dito


3. Plano namin mag-apply ng bf ko as common law partners. Inaayos na namin mga ids, joint bank accounts, etc.


4. MY BIGGEST DILEMMA: SPONSORSHIP May mga willing naman magsponsor. Ang problema lang namin ay papel ng sponsors. First, Pwede ako sponsoran ng tita ko PERO ayaw niya ipakita lahat ng properties at bank account niya. Ang ibibigay lang niya ay 3 months worth ng payslip at COE. BACKGROUND US Citizen siya, 10 years na. Nurse at 10 years na din nagttrabaho sa same company. May condo sa states, sariling bahay at ang basement ng bahay niya ay pinaparentahan. Papasa ba to kung siya ang sponsor ko?

Second. Mom ng BF ko. PERO retired na. May business at isang bahay PERO sa iba pamangkin niya lahat nakapangalan. AT hindi nagbabayad ng tax. Ayaw magdeclare na sa kanya ang business o ano mang involvement niya dun. Ayaw din ipakita ang 4 months na transaction. Bank draft lang ang gusto ipakita Anong proof of income kung siya ang sponsor namin

Kapag nagpa-affidavit of support, kailangan ba parehas na principal at dependent? O okay na kung principal lang?

Kailangan mo maiconnect yung current employment mo sa studies mo at sa course na kukunin mo. Kung pano makakatulong ang course na kukunin mo sa future career advancement mo. Kung grad ka ng hospitality management at kukunin mo is same na course sa ibang bansa you need a really good SOP. I suggest to take a course na parang upgrade sa education mo to help your career advancement.

3. Plano namin mag-apply ng bf ko as common law partners. Inaayos na namin mga ids, joint bank accounts, etc.

Dapat mga 1 year yung documents and such. Pero mostly gingawa kapag sasama ng asawa or partner is mauna muna yung isa then susunod yung isa. Less chance of refusal.

Pero medyo mahirap to kasi may mga school na pwede magbayad few months bago magpasukan eh 2 months processing di ba. So gagawin is papakita yung bank account na may lamang tuition fee. Doesn't matter kung tita mo or magulang ng BF mo basta yung account nila may sapat na pera para sayo. Kung ang 1 year na tuition mo is $15,000 at $10,000 ang support mo you need $25,000 in her account or around P940,000. Kailangan 4 months na ito sa bangko. Kapag may business sila na nag gegenerate income legally na may record idagdag. Mas marami mas better.

By "immigration" here I assume its the officer in the Port of entry (Place where you will get your study permit). The "student permit" here is the student visa. Student visa is your document to enter Canada. Student permit is your document to stay in Canada as a student.
Now, late mo na nareceive yung student visa mo at wala ka ng school na mapasukan for winter course. May visa ka para makapunta sa Canada pero hindi ka makakastay kasi idedeny yung student permit mo sa port of entry sa kadahilanang wala kang school.
Kung mga course certification less than 6 months yan kaya no need for student permit.

Best mo gawin is kung pang winter course ang inapplyan mo try mo yung mga pang summer course. Kailangan wala masyadong malaking gap sa pagapprove ng visa mo sa papasukan na school. May mga school sa Canada na nagsisimula term sa summer. Although rare. Yung pagaaralan mo kailangan same din sa course na inapplayan mo. Di ka pwede magswitch ng course. Wag mong sayangin yung visa mo. Look for school na may same na course and opening sa summer sa buong Canada. tapos later on lipat ka na lang ng school. Priority rito is makapasok ka agad sa Canada. Sayang ang visa.

Any comments or is this how it is normally, then they ask for everything else after?

Sa letter of explanation ko I only explained kasi 3 things.

1. Why I was exempt from IELTS
2. Why my mother will be paying my fees.
3. My conditional letter of acceptance and how I have documents to prove that I can meet these conditions.

Napansin ko kasi na everyone talks about SOP and etc, pero there was no space to upload an SOP? Does this come later?

Depende sa country yan. Tanungin mo yung country mismo or maginquire ka kung gaano katagal bago mo makuha police clearance. Best is file the application pagkarating ng police clearance. So i tyempo mo.

Pwede bang bank draft lang ang ipakita? At wala ng proof of income? O kaya naman. COE at payslip na 3 months ng sponsor, affidavit of support at paid tuition fee? Dun sa checking account/payslip kasi she has estimated PHP 700,000

Pwede naman basta labas na yung tuition. The more the merrier. Basta makiktia nila di ka magshoshort ng fund. Yung pera pwede maturn into cash anytime.
