sa school mo ba wala ka mahanap? ako ang layo ng trabaho ko sa field of study ko haha. pero ok na din bsta ma support ko sarili ko dito. pde ka naman mag hanap pag nakuha mo na ung pgwp mo but for now mag hanap ka muna ng pagkakakitaan

Kakatapos lang mdterms namin. Ok na ok nako sa 2 subjects. Yung isa nalang yung kinakabahan ako Buti pa kayo may time magwork. Ako medyo natutusta ang utak sa dami ng quiz, homeork and lab assignments hehe

Good for you micmic! Ngayon lang nag umpisa midterms namin. Isang subject pa lang natapos namin. Bukas naman dalawa. Kinakabahan ako sa result ng test kanina.

Mahihirapan din akong magtrabaho kase iba-iba studio times ko. Rotation kase mga students sa paggamit ng studios. 24 hours bukas ang studios namin. Meron nga akong studio times na 2am-5am. Haha!

While it is technically possible to have unlimited on campus work, di ko talaga siya kaya in addition to off campus work kaya pass muna ako. Hindi rin kasi biro yung GBM sa Centennial eh.

Oo nga eh, parang tumumal ang mga student applicants. Paano na tayo dadami niyan
I went to tech college kasi kaya siguro wala kayo midterms? I'm doing Enterprise software Development. Medyo mahirap lang mga test kasi minsan may mga questions na coding mismo or like may ipapakita na web page tapos ipapa code sayo on the spot for the midterms hehe

The good news though is after graduating, qualified na kami mag masters sa university. Two subjects nalang na research component tapos award na kami ng masters. Looking back, Mas happy ako na ito pinili ko kaysa sa Ryerson or York kasi yung mga classmates ko na mga professionals na, kung ano mga inaaral namin (java, oracle sql, linux, etc), exacto na yun mismo ginagamit sa work nila so parang work ready na pala daw kami agad

Isa-isa na lumalabas mga midterm grades namin, so far ok pa... @ nalang inaantay ko na medyo deadly Please pray for me! Waaahhh!!!

So far, okay naman yung scores ko sa midterm. Though di pa kami tapos mag midterm sa lahat ng subjects tsaka medyo mahirap yung isang subject kase music theory, mahina ako dun. I learn playing any song on some instruments by ear lang kase, di ako nagbabasa ng musical notation, ngayon mapipilitan na ako.

Hmm. Pwede na ring very challenging kase ang hirap maghanap ng trabaho sa field ko. :-\

Hi all, it's been a while since I last posted hehe

Great news, my PGWP application has finally been approved! I was given a 3-year permit wuhoo I wrote about the details of my application in a separate thread. Grabe, sobrang laking relief na nakuha ko na rin yung permit! Mostly because I was paranoid since I was working while waiting. Technically I wasn't violating rules since I was under implied status, but I was still nervous about the fact that I could get booted out of Canada any day if my application was refused. Thank God it wasn't and everything worked out in the end

I did a little back-reading and I'm glad to hear everyone's doing well in school! I keep on telling my friends that it's so weird it's already October and I'm no longer in school studying haha

Just to comment on a few things:

Re: Working on/off campus
Yep, as far as I know, unlimited work hours if on-campus work. If off-campus work, limited to 20 hrs/week during the semester but you are allowed to work full-time during scheduled academic breaks, including summer and winter break as long as you remain qualified to work (i.e., full time student in a DLI the semester before the break). You can read about it on the CIC page here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-offcampus.asp

Re: PGWP validity
It will be based on your original program length. So regardless of how long it took you to complete your program, if it was a 1 year program, you only get 1 year. My program was a 2-year diploma program (143 credits) and CIC said that any program that was 2 years or more in length gets 3 years.

Hi everyone! Congrats sa mga nagka PGWP diyan! Patulong nman po mga sir at ma'am, Bali nag apply po ako ng Student Permit through Online application last October 19, After a day naka receive na po ako ng medical request.
So last October 21 mag pa medical po ako sa St.Luke BGC. Kaso pagdating ko dun nagulat ako di pala gumagana un IME number na binigay ng CIC sakin. So in-advise ako na mag pa Upfront Medical at isend ko daw un E-medical Sheet ko sa CIC.
Tama kaya tong ginawa ko na nagpa upfront nlng ako? :-X

I applied for a student visa for winter of next year, still waiting for the result. Tanong ko lang kung paano aaplyan ang anak ko na 2 years old ng visa, pwede ba ang TRV? Balak ko po na after winter season, ipafollow ko sya sa Canada. Gusto ko na kasing asikasohin, while waiting for my result. Doon sa family information form I said that she will accompany me. I am a single mom po pala
