Anyone applied a Student Permit from Philippines?

Guys tanong ko lang. Kelangan ba ng bank statement ang passbook savings acct, or photocopy ng passbook or just a bank cert?

You need to show them that the money has been sitting there minimum of 4mos. Submit the bank statements madali lang naman magrequest nito sa bank together with the bank certificate.

@frustratedcanadian: I might be able to answer for wandermom BCIT's health sciences programs for international students are very limited as they exclusively give the slots to local students/PRs, especially for nursing. It's a well known school for technical courses thats why mataas employment rate nila for trades and technical jobs

hello my application for student visa was already approved I just want to clarify what this means.. CIC sent me a letter online saying that my permit was approved however I am confused by this..

There was a box included that says..

Permit Details:

Type: Permit - WP/ Permis - PT

Permit Validity (YYYY/MM/DD) : 2015/01/07

What does this mean? My classes will start on 01/07/2015 too.. Please guide me

It means you should enter Canada before that said date or else you can no longer enter Canada if you went there after that said date.

Hmm..Did you apply for SP or WP or maybe SP with co-op? I think permit validity is the date you can stay within Ca for students & with those temporary visas. It depends what visa type application you made. Did you applied through an agency?

I applied for SP.. i was told its the validity of until when can first enter canada.. no i didnt use any agency i applied online

@Torque78: nope, I usually fly direct with PAL. And I also hold a valid US tourist visa so I didnt have to get a transot visa

This was also my concern days ago. Since the cheapest flight ngayon is via US. Try to search thru expedia. com and if u want, you can talk to their costumer representative. They will guide you with your choices about the ticket and everything you need regarding your travel

@ wandermom: Langara is a pretty well known college in the Greater Vancouver area. I have some friends who transferred from there to BCIT. From what I know, kilala siya as a bridging school to other schools ) I am not sure how well they are in terms of health sciences, since they are more known for courses in liberal arts. But of the schools you've contacted, they are the one with the best reputation for me

I'm surprised though that Langara's the only one that's PGWP-eligible, di ko akalain kasi malalaking schools rin naman yung iba.

Yes, Sprott Shaw nga sana sis eh. Malapit sa Richmond and they the Pharmacy Tech program. But sadly, they're not PGWP eligible. I just want to make sure lang kasi na i will have a valid work pass to gain canadian experience after i finish my program. Salamat sa reply

Langara has a pretty good reputation here. Go for it! Have you tried BCIT though?

I also tried BCIT but their Health related programs are very limited. Just like what sis humdrumdum said:

If you have any recommendations pa mga sis, please post it here ha. Target intake date is for Sep 2015. Langara informed me that effective next year they will have January and May (in lieu of September) intake.

I dont think you have a problem with that as long as you have visa for entry and funds to support your early arrival. remember that 3mos is another extra add on to your budget and your back up documents should support it when requested. Having relatives too is a plus coz they can strengthen your case of arriving early.

@jd82, di ko pa nakuha passport ko kc pinacourier ko. I'm expecting later this week or nxt week. And yes, nakapagpabook na ko. I'm not sure about transiting thru US. Suggestion dn ng csr ng expedia na kumuha na lng ng flights na hindi dadaan sa US para safe. Try mo EVA airline.
