Any updates from Nairobi?

I was hoping to get updates from Nairobi applicants. Has anyone heard anything recently?

I applied in april 2007, have received AOR recently, after 1 and half years ( ridiculously late). I understand there is a lot of back log of applications and they are really slow in processing the files.. Just being patient and hoping for the best!

that is absolutely ridiculous. On the AOR when does it say they started processing the application?

This is what the letter says
this file is proceeding within the most recent processing times indicated in our website at www.kenya.gc.ca. However, with unforeseen changes in our volume of applications, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to definitively process an application within the times indicated.

I do not know what to make of it and have no clue what soever... as I said , just praying and hoping for the best.

what about your case.. when did u apply??

well i was told in my AOR that I would hear from them in 24 months time. My apps was recieved on Dec 06 and thay began processing it on Jan 27th 2007. Its already been 24 months and nothing yet. I hear the processing time has gotten longer. In Nov 08 I heard from them asking me if I was still interested and if not then this was my last chance to withdraw the application. Nothing since then!

effective 2008 the processing time is 39 months ... so i guess we just have to wait.. although very frustrating not knowing what to expect and when...

I applied in december 2006 and got the file no. in Feb 2008 stating that the case will be finalised within 24 months.

It has been been more than 24 months and still no response.

I followed up with the embassy through my lawyer and the reply received was that in October 2008 they had send a letter to us (never received) asking if we were interested in proceeding and if no reply is received within 45 days they will start processing the case papers.

Since it is more than 45 days now they will start processing the papers is what they finally wrote.

God knows when this will get finalised.

My lawyer has asked me to take the IELTS but am not sure when to take it.

based on your posts, application filed in 2006 are being processed now, which means that mine (filed in 2007) the process will start end of this year ?????

I got the letter too..asking if i was still interested in Nov 08. its been more than 45 days and still no news. Please if u hear that someone has recieved medicals and had applied from Nairobi, let us know their timeline so we know what to expect.
