Anyone has an update on Bill C-6. I am waiting for the new regulations to be finally effective so that I can apply for my citizenship. When will the new law come into effect?

The Senate is holding that Bill as expected here by many. Nothing new.
It looks like the tricky time for this Bill will come once it is send to the Committee of social affairs in the Senate as you can see it is still very early for any effective dates yet.

I also expect very difficult times for that Bill once it reaches the Committee. The influence of Harper is still there that's why the Bill is still on hold.

Whatever, i am never ever going to vote for conservatives. I will always be with the Liberals, after my citizenship.

Same decison I had made. They screw up things and tried to isolate the immigrants

Tomorrow, Sept 28, Senate will resume debate of the Second reading on bill C-6

Any update on this bill guys?

Some are saying that new amendment is coming as of 3 yrs / 5 yrs but processing time will be 2 yrs . So what will happen for those who are near to 4 yrs and under previous law processing time is only 1 yr, they will need to wait again 2 yrs !!!

yes those people got screwed up twice, once by c24 and now c6

Senate committee on social affairs, science and technology hold the last meeting today and considered the bill clause by clause, nothing defeated, all clauses were carried without voting except two, clause no. 3 and 20 were carried after more votes in favor. This will go back to the Senate now for third reading. Hopefully soon we will see this into law.
