Any PhD applicants here ? Can you please share your status

Biometrics : 12 August

I am a Ph.D. student in Chemistry at University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver.

I think it does not matter what program one is admitted to. It does not reflect upon a processing procedure.
I am from Israel. I applied online on 24 May, submitted Biometrics on 31 May. I received AIP on 13 August.


I get worried much. I hope everything will be fine.

I requested a deferral to January 2021. Chemistry is a serious field, it is not possible to study it online. I need to undertake research in the laboratory and fulfill TA duties.

I am a PhD applicant for Computer Science.
Submitted App : 24 July
Completed all docs including biometrics: 12 August

no AIP or update yet, loosing my mind with stress

Since computer science doesnt necessarily need a Lab I am okay starting online but without AIP it is nerve wrecking

Submitted mine May 16th.
Submitted all Docs and biometrics. Got AIP August 6th. Got medical request and passed it.

Just hang in there. Our PPR is on its way.

Do you have funding?

AIP on 5th August
Medical passed on 13th August
Deferred to Jan 2021, my course requires massive lab work

I’m starting my studies online this Fall.
Upfront medical and biometrics done in March.

Guys, I had one simple query, there is one question on study permit questionnaire that ask "Is work an essential component of your studies?".

My question: Those who are enrolled for a funded research program, do they have to answer this question yes or no?

If we select yes, it asks for documentation for "Evidence of Work Requirement" to be uploaded? I'm really confused, as I will be receiving funding from a Canadian university during my studies.

Or is this option only applicable for those having Co-Op in their curriculum?

Please advise.
