Even with the consideration of families included in the PR application, it is extremely unlikely that the quota they announced could be reached somehow.

I think we should have a draw by this weekend (mostly on this Saturday), completely basing it on my judgement and looking at the dates of past draws.

Does anyone know how many draws remain in this calendar year, I vaguely remember reading somewhere that there would be 24 draws in 2015.
I cannot recollect the source of this information.

Does anyone know?

The 2015 quota was reached months ago. The backlogs from previous years made most of it. Those backlogs will also account for a majority of the 2016 quota.

They said between 15-25. They never gave a specific number they'd do.

Nothing to base this on apart from the recent trend. Last possible draw date for 2015: Dec 18.

there's never any news on upcoming draws.

at the beginning of 2015 there were over 400,000 backlogged applications. they made up the majority of this years quota and a lot of next year's too. Take into account the expected 6 month processing time for EE applications, anyone pulled since July is counted in the 2016 quota. The 2015 quota is long over. And as someone else said, each person on an application, takes one of those quota spots. So one application with a spouse and 2 children will take 4 of those quota places.
400,000! Wow! Any idea as to the breakdown by class? How many of these are FSW? Is there a place we can follow how the backlog is progressing?

Hi,

I made some calculations, and till now 29560 ITA sent during 2015, and according to the numbers in the below link I don't think they exhausted 2015 quota.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/notices/2014-11-06.asp

That's because you don't understand the quota.

This has been discussed on this forum more times than I can name. That quota has nothing to do with how many ITAs will be issued for 2015. It has to do with how many immigrants will be accepted which includes applications submitted in all previous years.

There has only been one draw in December till now, and the next two Fridays are Christmas and New Year. So, if CIC misses today, and makes a draw on Jan 8th, then its 34 days from the last draw and would take the cut-off to 500+

There are very high chances of a draw tomorrow, a Christmas gift for waiting applicants! Merry Christmas!!

Is it guaranteed that if your score is more than the minimum then you will be nominated ? I mean is this the only selection criteria or there are some other hidden rules ?

Now, I have seen a pattern in score and number of invitations as some of the other people here. I don't want to disappoint someone but it looks like if a draw comes out tomorrow which is 2 weeks from the previous draw then the Minimum score will be in the range of 465-475 and if the draw comes out in 3 weeks ( highly improbable due to Christmas eve, it can come on 23rd though), then the range will be between 475-490. If in 4 weeks then it will be in the range of 485 - 505 and so on.

The only way the score will go south is if the draw happens in a week's time. That makes sense since there are fewer candidates in the draw. I believe that is what CIC is trying to do. Every now and then they bring out a draw in a week to give a chance to lower score people. The one week trend can be seen in March, April, July and now December. It seems that the gap is increasing but I believe there is no set formula, as soon as they see the min score getting high then they do this. If you keep yourself in CIC's shoes then it makes perfect sense.

You can see the pattern below and let me know what you think

January 31st, 2015 – 779 invitations – Minimum score of 886
February 7th, 2015 – 779 invitations – Minimum score of 818
February 20th, 2015 – 849 invitations – Minimum score of 808
February 27th, 2015 – 1187 invitations – Minimum score of 735
March 20th, 2015 – 1620 invitations – Minimum score of 481
March 27th, 2015 – 1637 invitation – Minimum score of 453
April 10th, 2015 – 925 invitations – Minimum score of 469
April 17th, 2015 – 715 invitations – Minimum score of 453
May 22nd, 2015 – 1361 invitations – Minimum score of 755
June 12th, 2015 – 1501 invitations – Minimum score of 482
June 26th, 2015 – 1575 invitations – Minimum score of 469
July 10th, 2015 – 1516 invitations – Minimum score of 463
July 17th, 2015 – 1581 invitations – Minimum score of 451
August 7th, 2015 – 1402 invitations – Minimum score of 471
August 21st, 2015 – 1523 invitations – Minimum score of 456
September 8th, 2015 – 1517 invitation – Minimum score of 459
September 18th, 2015 – 1545 invitation – Minimum score of 450
October 2nd, 2015 – 1530 invitations – Minimum score of 450
October 23rd, 2015 – 1502 invitations – Minimum score of 489
November 13, 2015 – 1506 invitations – Minimum score of 484
November 27th, 2015 – 1599 invitations – Minimum score of 472
December 4th, 2015 – 1,451 invitations – Minimum score of 461

My question is do we have a higher number of provincial nominations as we have seen in past few months or has there been a decline in that?

Very less nomination have been given in December as compared to last few months
