Any help on cancelled applications?

I recently found out that my study permit application status was updated to 'cancelled'. Upon sending an enquiry, I was told that my previous application was created in error, and that a new file was recreated under a new application number. However, the new application hasn't appeared in the MyCIC webpage, nor can it be found under my 'Completed Applications'. As I start school in Canada in January 2015, I would appreciate any help or information other people know about this particular instance.

I had applied outside of Canada so I cannot call the CIC helpline from Hong Kong. I've been told that my recreated application is in queue but it hasn't appeared on MyCIC page yet.
