Any Armenians applied to Canada through Spousal Sponsorship yet?

Hi folks,

I'm in Vancouver and my wife is Syrian-Armenian. She's in Yerevan now and we're putting together our application. I have various questions for anyone who might already have applied for PR. Anyone around who has applied?

One thing - the Work Book we are required to provide. My wife has never worked in Armenia (she spent her whole life in Syria until recently!), so doesn't have a work book. Any ideas?

Also, any Syrians have problems getting a birth certificate or criminal check? We have a criminal check from Syria which was issued in July (so expired last month), and no birth certificate yet!

Hi, I'm at the exactly in the same situation, my wife is a Syrian/Armenian & has dual nationality.
We applied her papers on Feb 2014, at first it was sent to Moscow & then it was transferred into Warsaw.
they just recently email us telling that it's still under review (whatever does that mean.)
When did you apply her papers?

Hi there.. I am Armenian too and my papers were transferred from Moscow to Warsaw on September 4, no information till now. Hope to hear from them soon.

I spoke to my lawyer, who told me that the Moscow office closed down, so all Armenian applications are now being processed in Poland. Quicker processing times too which is nice!

Glad to see I'm not the only one who is going through all this

We haven't been able to file our paperwork yet, as we're missing a few documents. I wanted to ask you - were you able to send off your papers before your partner had completed the medical?

Also, did you get that "work book" that you're supposed to provide with Armenian applications? My wife had never even visited Armenia until 2012, when she left Aleppo!
