Congratulations!!

If you're in Canada then of course Ottawa, but make sure to call or e-mail them and only then send it.

It looks like those who applied in June, 2016 are getting their PPR now. So, I am just guessing those who applied in July,2016 are next. Probably next month. I have send e-mail for status update to Ankara on January 10,2017 and no reply yet. Let's hope and pray.

Thank you guys !! Manitobagirl. You emailed to Ankara? They don't respond to emails though. I emailed 3 times no luck!

Thank you. It was fast, specially after I saw the notes from first officer stating that me and my wife look like friends!

Do you suggest I send a specific enquiry as well? Did you send email or just filled the specific enquiry form? Do you think that helped the process of your application? I am May 31st sponsor.

I called Ankara visa office but the recorded voice said that they dont give any information on the phone unless processing time passed.
has anyone got info on his/her application from Visa office on the phone or fax?
I know one got a response to her e mail; I tried that but no response.

Specific enquiry doesn't do anything neither unless processing time is passed..thats what it is stated on the website where you can see that form. You need request
GCSM that would tell you the delay. But it takes 30 calender days.

If you are in Canada (and have valid temporary status (eg: worker)), then you can request under the Privacy Act. There is no fee for this. See: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-personal.asp . Note the 'Note" on the page.

If you are not in Canada, or are, but do not have a valid temporary status, you need to make a request under the Access to Information Act. There is a $5 fee. See: http://www.cic.gc.ca/ENGLISH/department/atip/requests-atip.asp . You need to pay the $5 fee here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/ENGLISH/information/fees/index.asp . Include receipt of this payment as an attachment when you submit the request.

Hi hniazi!

First, I'd like to send my congratulations. I'm an Iranian applicant sent my application on 21th November, then my file was transferred to Ankara on 8th December and started processing 14th December. On 22th December when for the the first time I could have access to mycic both of my eligibility and background check were in process!. Regarding to your time line, your background check last for 3 weeks. Can I be hopeful for approving in short time as your case. Although I better say I lived around 10 months in Canada in 2014, may it make my background check will go further?
Thank you.

Hi,

Thank you. I believe if your application is complete and everything looks good to them it will be processed very fast. in December, they have announced that they are speeding up the process. Background check being in process is a good news. My understanding is that Background checks are the last part in the process and if everything is good you will be issued your visa. BC can take long though depending on your situation but finger crossed you may have a faster check because you have already traveled to Canada once. Best of luck to you.

Thank you, your kind words give me ton of positive energy! I wish the bests for you and all the other applicants in this new year.

Thank you for reply. I know you mentioned they didn't reply in your case (as it was within processing time) but do you think that may cause them to look at the application and speed up?
