It seems that spouse PR quota has exceeded. This is why we haven't heard much since end of October. If that is true we have to wait until first week of January to receive more PPRs.

As far as I'm aware there is no "quota" on spousal PR applications for Canada. I believe this is more the case of the economic class (federal skilled worker, etc.)

We only represent a small number of cases for the files processed in Ankara. It's safe to assume there are on average over 100 spousal PR applications sent to Ankara each month (based on the last data provided by CIC for the year July 2012-June 2013 there was something like a little over 1,400 spousal applications processed in Ankara). So remember that there could be people not active on this forum hearing good news from Ankara each week.

Thanks for the reply. Can you please give me the link for the report? It is a bit too much in my opinion to have 1400 spousal applications only in Ankara.

Sure, the information data set can be found by downloading a spreadsheet here:
http://data.gc.ca/data/en/dataset/427337d0-7c36-4fed-8428-c6a63f8c19b3

You can then change the "Points of Service" at the top of the excel file to show Ankara only. At the tabs at the bottom you can see further information (by year, trend, etc.)

The exact number for just Spouses and Partners (Common-Law, etc. without children) is at 1,473 people passed and 1,448 visas issued in Ankara for the last year.

Thanks for the link. I would take a close look at that. I also looked at 2012 report which clearly mentions that there is a limit for spouse, children, and parents. In 2012, 43195 spouses, parents, and children were admitted which was in the approved admission range of 38000 to 44000 in 2012. So there is a limit. And if you check the data sheet in this forum you can find that there were not much issued PPR in last quarter of 2012. So i assume that the same thing has happened this year. I expect several pprs in the first week of January when the quota will be renewed.

I hope you're right too. I think the strike really screwed the process up for many people. But, on a happy note it looks like the embassy in Ankara is looking to hire 3 or 4 new case workers! http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/turkey-turquie/offices-bureaux/2013-ANKRA-07.aspx?lang=en
Hopefully this will help to speed up the process :)

When you mentioned that there is a limit, did you mean that they are not processing the application? or you meant they are processing but they will not issue Visa? I think they are processing the applications however they will not issue PPR based on the limit you mentioned, what do you think?

Great. The data sheet is very informative. Thanks.
The hiring is a long process. I hope our cases are processed sooner than that.

I think they are processing the applications. They would announce the results when they have the quota. That is my opinion, just based on checking some other cases last year and also the current situation of visa issue at some other visa offices.
