Your time line is very similar to ours except we made a couple of mistakes....we didn't do our medicals before we sent our application and also we didn't send our landing fee in advance. We received our landing fee request on June 7 and so I hope that we will receive our PPR in the next couple of months!

Hey guys, I am also about to go through Ankara visa office (paperwork to be submitted this week, I hope). Was wondering what feedback you can give me about medical examinations?. I have mine booked for this tuesday, but my lawyer insists on not doing it yet, without clear reason. Did you do yours prior to submitting the application?

Your lawyer doesn't know the rules I guess,
Yes most of us did the medical thingy way before applying.
So you are better off doing it and not wait for the visa office to ask you

Thank you very much. I am really stressed out at the moment. Me and my spouse have been together for over 2 years and have a ton of proof, but I am still worried as to whether I will get approved or not. Guess, because I am all doom and gloom haha.

Hi Abe1004,

I can answer your question from our personal experience....assuming that you are applying to immigrate through the spousal sponsorship route.

We made a couple of mistakes in our process which has caused some delay and a LOT OF HEARTACHE!!! First of all...we didn't submit my wife's "Upfront Medical Exam" at the time we submitted our application. This caused our first delay.

Secondly, we didn't realize that we should have paid the RPRF (Right of Permanent Residence Fee) or "Landing Fee" at the time of our application. This has caused a second delay!

It's a terrible thing to be seperated from the one you love and it's our pleasure to do anything we can do to help you minimize your delays by way of teaching you what we've learned by our mistakes.

Who ever is giving you advice doesn't know what he/ she is talking about.

Unfortunately the CIC instructions are NOT as clear as we believe they should be....but for your sake we hope you don't make the same mistakes we have. It's sooo hard to be seperated and it's financially crippling to try spend only 3 weeks together every year.

haha....I like your attitude BMW....do you think as a man born in Canada I could find a good job in Iran?

More importantly, do you think because I'm Canadian living in Iran maybe they wouldn't force my wife to wear a scarf in July when the temperature is 40+ celcius, if I moved there to be with her??? Maybe they wouldn't arrest her if her coat was to short because she's married to a Canadian who lives in Iran with her.

I think you are absolutely right...I think worst case scenario is we all have to go back and live with our partners where they are subjected to ongoing suppression of freedom of choice, gender discrimination, religious and racial discrimination, etc. ....omg....don't get me started!!!!

Hehehe....by the way ...this was not aimed at you BMW....but at the government of Iran....hehehe.
