hopefully I get the visa soon cause the economy in Iran s going down bigtime.

Thank you BCgirl2012 :)
I guess for people with a PR they can't be out too long because of citizenship reasons they must fill their days to apply for their citizenship I guess :)
If u don't mind me asking what country is your spouse in?!?

Good luck and hopefully soon all of us will start to enjoy our new lives with our spouses :)

Yes, citizens can be outside of Canada when they apply, but make sure you have enclosed enough evidence that you will return to Canada once your partner's visa is issued. Otherwise, the case can be refused. If you look in form IMM5540 question 11.

P.S. Travelling is fine for both citizens and PRs. PRs must be careful with the duration. There's no set number of days as for how long they can visit. But I've heard it's suggested not longer than a few weeks/ a month.

Well, it's because of filling their days to be citizens. Rather, it's because CIC wants PR to be resident in Canada when they apply. There is a certain definition as to what it means to be a resident in Canada. Having a place, bank accounts, assets, etc are one part of it. But the person must also be living in Canada, and no other country to be eligible to sponsor their partner as a PR.

My husband is from Georgia. He is in Tbilisi right now, so we are separated and it's really hard. I'm gonna go for a visit in a month though :)

Good luck to you, too. I wish us all a very speedy process!

any good news here for anyone????

Hi
BC girl got her AOR 2 days ago ... she filled her application 28th May !!!!
she is soooo lucky ... i dont know if her application transfer to ankara or not ?

Just wanted to mention something about the number of employees discussed earlier!
In July 2011, Ankara visa office only had 11 officers AND staff:
-3 CBOs (including one migration integrity officer [MIO])
-2 locally engaged program officers
-6 locally engaged staff
Unless suddenly after the transfer of files from Damascus and Tehran they hired 190 more officers and staff then I don't think 200+ employees is a true number.
For anyone interested here is the link:

Hi Galip, if you go to page 2 and 3 of this thread... you will see i was not making up the 200+ employees.... here is a quote from mehdiR.... >:(

I agree with u 100% , and I think I mentioned that if one's case is complicated they should consider a consultant however, one who's REALLY experienced and truthful .

Ankara has been great and it has around 260 people working on the cases so speedy process is expected/ what I'm praying for.

cheers

I don't know you created this but Ankara does not have 200+ employees for immigration purposes :) They moved to a big building from their old location but they don't have +200 immigration employees. If you count every employee in the embassy , including the driver of ambassador, security guards at the door and cleaners etc. maybe you hit this number :)

Beside the joke, Ankara it's one of the fastest visa processing centres overall. They issue tourist visas for Turkish citizens in 24 hours. You could send all documents by courier and if your application is OK then the next day they send your passport via courier to your home address. If you are not a Turkish citizen then your processing times for any type of visa is longer.

In Spousal Sponsorships their avarage processing time is 6 months. It's the shortest time overall again if you check other visa centres.

However if you are not a Turkish Citizen or a person not holding residential permit in Turkey then your waiting time is different for backgorund and security check purposes. If your file already transferred from Damascus office to Ankara again your waiting time is different for the same purposes above.

anything new from Ankara???????????????????? :D has anyone yet gotten approved from Anakara recently from the people who's files were sent directly to Ankara not transferred from Damascus????

?
