Actually i'm going to Iran next month for a month...but whole process is :'(

hopefully soon this process will be over.. I was married in March myself..havent seen my spouse for 3 months now and its killing me... I have been praying i can just go back once and come back with him... i will keep my hopes up and be positive you never know

Now that the Ankara office is minimum 6 months processing.... I know most of us cant stand being so far apart and will want to travel and see our spouses...does anyone know of such a rule that is, the sponsors not being able to go and visit and stay outside of Canada for more than 50 days???
my friend filed her application in April of 2011 through Damascus, and she mentioned that we are not allowed to visit or be out of the country for more than 50 days at a time, i'm not sure where she got this information from, but it just didnt sound right, they cant forbid us from visiting or limit our visits can they? She mentioned that they may ask for copies of our passport before they issue a visa to our spouse, I kind of find that ridiculous if that is the case... but one issue that came up before her husband was issued his visa was that she was asked to show bank account info for the last 6 months.. transactions...withdraws...deposits etc... what does that have to do with anything???? why would they want our bank info?????

has anyone seen or heard anything about these kinda things..please share your thoughts..

No , there is not sch a rule to forbid a citizen from visiting his/her spouse . In fact u could go back to Iran and wait for the visa together.
This is what I did. I am living in Iran and waiting for my wife's PR.

This however is different if the sponsor is a PR himself. Then there are rules of how many days he could be abroad.

Khoda ro shokr we can go come and go! inshala your wife's paperwork will be finished soon and you can come back to Canada and start your life here ! Where do you live in Canada originally ??

Yes, citizens can be outside of Canada when they apply, but make sure you have enclosed enough evidence that you will return to Canada once your partner's visa is issued. Otherwise, the case can be refused. If you look in form IMM5540 question 11, you'll see the question about returning citizens.

P.S. Travelling is fine for both citizens and PRs. PRs must be careful with the duration. There's no set number of days as for how long they can visit. But I've heard it's suggested not longer than a few weeks/ a month.

I'm Torontonian . Richmond hill area .
I just don't wanna be apart from my wife and daughter , even short period of time .
hopefully I get the visa soon cause the economy in Iran s going down bigtime.
