Hi,

how do you know that they have 260 people working on the cases??? did u see it on their website? sorry for being nosy but thats interesting to me... do u know approximately how long does it take them to process 1 single case? do they do it one a day or do they start a couple and work on them? thats interesting to find out so that we know how they go through all that paper work and pictures and emails etc!

sohrab ( a senoir member who works for CIC ) gave us the details of the number of employees of Ankara embassy.
the rest of your questions are unknown even to Sohrab.
wish us all the best of luck in this process .

Guys they finally updated the new processing time today. so now Ankara VO new processing time is 6 months, its really good. it was 5 months before, and now 6 moths. i think that means all the spousal application they receive, this new procession time would count for it.

I really doubt this would include those whose files were transferred to Ankara from Damascus and also those whose files were put on hold in Canada. But hopefully this would apply to new applicants

I dont know but i think if thats the case, they at least put a note on their website saying something about those specific applicants whose files transfered or put on hold. and we see they didn't. which i assume this new timeline includes all applicants old and new.

Hi BCgirl2012 ... I am from Iran and my VO is Ankara as well. I have been mainly active in Damascus and January 2012 threads. I found Damascus to be very informative though. :)

I know someone. He applied for his parents in 2005, and got their PR's in 18 months in total. But the situation is changed right now. Only the parent's waiting time is 19-20 months in Ankara, and sponsor's approval is between 35-50 months.

Applying a super visa for parents is another option.

Thanks Galip ! Yeah, I saw on CIC website that the waiting time is about 19 months, but in 2011 it was 26 months. So, basically, in the first quater of 2012 they started to proccess faster the files for parents sponsorship ... Hope, they will keep doing it ! :)

I don't know you created this but Ankara does not have 200+ employees for immigration purposes :) They moved to a big building from their old location but they don't have +200 immigration employees. If you count every employee in the embassy , including the driver of ambassador, security guards at the door and cleaners etc. maybe you hit this number :)

Beside the joke, Ankara it's one of the fastest visa processing centres overall. They issue tourist visas for Turkish citizens in 24 hours. You could send all documents by courier and if your application is OK then the next day they send your passport via courier to your home address. If you are not a Turkish citizen then your processing times for any type of visa is longer.

In Spousal Sponsorships their avarage processing time is 6 months. It's the shortest time overall again if you check other visa centres.

However if you are not a Turkish Citizen or a person not holding residential permit in Turkey then your waiting time is different for backgorund and security check purposes. If your file already transferred from Damascus office to Ankara again your waiting time is different for the same purposes above.
