am just wonder if anyone has applied for visitor visa or student visa via VACS center in Ankara or Istanbul.
Is there any forum regarding VAC center. How can she follow-up her application?
When they received my sister’s application they sent her the tracking number but it did not show anything just below note
‘Visa application, tracking ID No.xxx is being processed at the Canada Visa Office, ANKARA. To know more, please call VAC helpline number or visit VAC website.’
I tried to call them but they keep saying that you should wait we cannot do anything
I am really wonder when they cannot do anything what is the point to send the application and pay more money to VACS.
They hold her application for awhile because the receivers’ name on money order was written by hand. Just stupid.

Just to inform the users still waiting for visa, my wife received the visa last week and now she is in Toronto, I started to apply in Feb 2013 and the file was in process since June 13th 2013 and they asked for passport on July 22nd 2013. do not forget to send the landing fee before they ask you since it will accelerate the process.
Also for those want to go Ankara, we found a very nice hotel just a block away from embassy, Midi hotel, but if you would like to book a room go to hotels.com which gives you the better price( $82 in hotels.com and $120 directly from hotel).
Anyways, good luck for everybody hope have a good life in Canada.

That is very fast processing. Did you notice if there was still quite a few people working due to the strike that is happening?

Hi Guys!!

I was just wondering if anyone has news for this month????

new processing time announced by CIC, and unfortunately Ankara visa office processing time still 16 month. its very disappointing and strange.

and bad news that Ankara visa office not work from 27 July because immigration officers wake out. for strike.

noting happening and forum is very silent.

So unfortunate! People just want to be with their loved ones :(

I am submitting through Ankara in about a week (well Ankara is my visa office).

This strike, has it really slowed everyone down? Does anyone know IF they are even still processing or its a total halt?

Usually it used to take 3 months for the application to go from "Received" to "In Progress"... I am now in my 4th month of waiting for the application to be "in progress."

However, there still are some people that are receiving their PR. It may be slowing things down but I believe there are still people working and processing visas.

Thank you very much for the response. Me and my spouse been separated by this immigration process for a little over 6 month now and I must admit every day seems to be harder and harder. Knowing that there is something else that may make it even longer, just really sucks.

I hope you guys all get to see your spouses soon. Cheers.
