actually roro not really it's just one extra small step and one extra document which the embassy has to make sure u have it before they start anything; there r some differences for the first part (the assessment of the sponsor) but the way the applicant is assessed is exactly the same with the same amount of time
i think so far he is one of the lucky ones

We all have that line that he has, that started processing part. His only showed up now because he was missing a paper and since he sent in the paper and the application is complete that line appeared. The real question to ask is when he first logs in does it say Application received or In process.

not really for us it still says "application received" am i the only one ??? anyway i remember one member from damascus thread, kamal (the creator of that thread) his status was still "application received" even after he landed ;D

We started processing your application on October 11, 2011.

We sent you a letter on October 12, 2011 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

The second line is I think what bassem posted.

nope feverdream, i think its not so because you are talking about stage one but Bassam is in stage two. the message he received is from Amman visa office not cic in Mississauga and its early because he is in Syria and the dire the situation.

But it's the same line most of us had. I was wondering if it says In process when he first logs in ( or does it say application recieved), if that is the case then yes they are working on it (although as stated before even if they do not write it it doesn't mean they aren't.)

yeah feverdreams iwatchtv is right; that part i (the sponsor) have it too; actually i never had it either application received or in process i had it from the beginning "decision made" and the letter message just like u; but that is not the amman part that is missisauga part

but for the applicant side it's still "application received" and that part bassem has it "in process"; that part i want to see "in process" too and hope we all do any time soon

I see I didn't read the part where he said that it says in process on the first page. I just did not want to get his hopes up and then in 6 months it is still the same. But if it is saying in process then yes Inshalla very soon he should hear something!

The situation there also has me scared, that the immigration office will close like Syria ... Inshallah it wont come to that.

The rest of the immigration office are already backed up, and overloaded. At this stage we have to pray that the situation there will now escalade to violence

It was received on March 15, 2011 and still "Application Received".

Khalid did you order a copy of your GCMS notes? If I hadn't ordered the notes, I would have never known the main reason why our application is taking this long (regarding security checks and police certificates). Ecas has been frozen as the same comments for over a year now so I don't know why some comments on here people are stressed out about their Ecas only mentioning application received...Wishing everyone the best of luck by the way I met Jason Kenney a week ago in person

Yes, I did. In last April I got the result which was; NOTHING HAD STARTED!.

don't worry Khalid no need to say anything; ur wife will b like kamal: still Application Received and she will be already in Canada
hmm since last april a looooot could have happenned; what if they sent u a request which u never got ??? i suggest u order the notes again; of course if there is no change at all don't despair, i know ppl who had nothing started in the notes and got the visa soon after
