Hello,
I am a 21 year old Canadian who will be graduating college in May. For my graduation I want my girlfriend there. She is a 21 year old american. She will be visiting me for 2 months. She just recently quit her job and does not want to get another one until she comes back because nobody will hire her if she will be leaving within a month. She does not have much money and will only have around $300 Canadian with her when she leaves. (That includes bank balance)
We both currently live at home and she will be staying with my mom and I for the duration of her stay. The reason she is down here for 2 months is to meet my family, see me graduate, visit the tourist spots in Ottawa and Toronto, and my birthday (July 14th). We do intend to move her here eventually but certainly not during this visit.
My main concern is getting through border security. $300 is not enough funds to support herself but she will be staying with me the whole time. Does a written letter from my mom saying she has permission to stay at her home for the 2 months help the case? Since she has no job anymore how does she prove her ties to the U.S.A if they ask? Should she get a written letter from her mom saying that her mom expects her back by July 25th? (The day she is flying back). She will have a return ticket with her as well so that will help.
I want to make sure we have enough supporting documents so she won't get denied entry.

Any insight, recommendations, or comments will help.
Thanks :)

There's certainly a chance she won't be asked any questions when entering Canada. However if she is, $300 is extremely low for a 2 month visit. Does she have anything else she can show? Does she have a credit card for example?

She does not have a credit card. However she can get one. Is this something that would be worth getting? I'm confused on what else she can show. She has a car and can bring her car registration I guess. Would that help?

Her car registration doesn't prove anything. Yes - I would strongly recommend she get a credit card.

I'm not sure what she can really do to fix her issue with lack of proof of ties. I wouldn't bother with the letter from her mother - this really has no value. She is an adult and her mother can't make her return to the U.S. or guarantee she will return. Hopefully she simply won't be asked for evidence of proof of ties.

She does do on and off work for her aunt who owns a business. If she got a letter from her Aunt (who would be her boss) saying she is expected back at work at the end of her visit, would that work?

That's pretty weak since it's a family member and the work isn't steady. I suppose she can get the letter but I wouldn't pull it out unless absolutely necessary.

Again, good chance she will be allowed in without any questions.
