Hi all,

My partner and I have been living togather for 18 months but only have proof for the last 12. Here is the question I need answered.

We lived in one place for 10 months but then moved to another country and there is a gap of about 1 or 2 weeks. We have now been living together again for 2 months and have proof. 12 months total.

I read somewhere that it has to have been 12 months uninterrupted living together... Have we ruined EVERYTHING by this move??

Am I no longer applicable under common law because of those 2 weeks? We still were together throughout them...

Hi

You didn't ruin anything. You are still common-law.

While I have you here Canuck.... I recently got a british passport through my mother. I am an Australian.

I am doing the generic form now and I assume i put down i am a duel citizen now. But there are 4 options for UK:
- British Ntl overseas
- British overseas citizen
- British overseason ter
- British Citizen

Im guessing I am now an "overseas citizen"?

No idea on that one. You would need to look at British citizenship laws to see which is correct.
