hello! just wondering if someone had this similar situation or experienced this one.

what would be the chances of me be included in my mom's petition for a permanent residence in canada? im the eldest among my bro and sisters..We just recieved our medical forms yesterday and we are preparing for it..I just turned 23 last february 2008 and my mom filed the petition when im still 21 or 22 i think, isn't the age for dependent children is 22 years old? is it still possible to accompany my family when they leave the country? my mom is in Alberta right now..she told me that i have to get back to school so i can be a student. a full- time student.In this way i can still be considered as DEPENDENT shild..however, im a graduate of a Bachelor's degree already and graduated in 2005. im a little bit anxious coz i put on the IMM form on the personal history part that i work as a staff nurse from sept. 2005 to april 2006..after that i went back to study but not in a real school but in a review center so i put May 2006 to July 2007(this is the month which we recieved and submitted the IMM forms to the Canadian Embassy in the Philippines) STUDYING (which is true coz i have to review for other professional exams) ..so im just wondering whAt would be my chances.thanks in advance!

You should be included in mother's application- but as NON-accompanied relative.

It is too late for you to become her dependent. If only you started going to school before you turned 22 and have been at school SINCE- you would be able to be included as a dependent even if you were 23 now. But you graduated, worked and hsve been supporting youself since 2005. It is too late to go to school to pretend for immigration purposes that you are a dependent.

However, as a nurse, and as a person who has (or when you will have) a close relative in Canada you have a good chance to immigrate into Canada by yourself as a skilled worker.

thats sad..my mom is still convincing me and still very optimistic about me being included and she always give me assurance that i can go with the rest of my family when they leave..well, actually i dunno and im kinda confused in many ways..

actually i did study after i work..however its from a review center and an academy.my mom petitioned us when i was 22 i think.so that was last year. isn't still considered? actually my plan was to enrol in Med School but i never got the chance last year coz im reviewing.but i dont know if i still got a shot in June to enrol..if not i might enroll another bachelor's degree..but that is accrording to my mom..

Hi,

I think you should go for it and include your self also, cause it won't cost you anything now and your brother and sisters case will not be distrube I think because of you. So, I have one solution for you to think that If you worked for some time and you are confused that you have wrote in the personal history question that you have worked and then after that you went for study in some school, then it's no problem still.

what you can do is to cover that work statement that you give, you can ask the responsible person where you have worked about this and ask them to issue you an internship completion letter or some nursing training certificate or letter so it looks like you have did only training or internship not a professional job.

And if you are still studying or don't have a gap of more then 6 months then get an addmission in Masters degree as soon as possible or start some other professional certification if you are interested in nursing, so it will look like you can be very usefull in Canada.

im planning to go to a med school.actually that my original plan right after i graduated..a lot of things just mixed up after the graduation so i wasnt able to enter med school..but i guess this doesnt matter to the immigration people because of standard procedures..

can you tell me how many months after you submitted the IMM forms you got your medical exam forms? 7 months or 8 months?

thanks for the reply..it did help in alleviating my anxiety..

well i cant really remember when i submitted the forms.but il check it out later and then il post here tom..however, the embassy asked us for few documents which i can say that they started processing our papers last November 2007 so that would be 4 mos.let me just add around 3 to 4 mos so yeah that would be 7 to 8 mos until our medical forms arrived last week...

i checked my forms and i forwarded the forms to the embassy on Sept 2007..

Medical? no not yet i'm just waiting for my mom to send the money that we are goin to use for the expenses..

may be on hte first week of april..

well i guess the processing depends on the embassy..Im from the Philippines..the embassy here usually takes them around 7 to 8 months to process the IMM forms..
