Thanks for all the suggestions. I never thought about explaining to them why he might have done so terrible at the interview. I'm not sure if it will make any difference at this point. I think they have mailed us the decision already. I'll check the website tomorrow when it gets updated.
As far as reasons why it will be a burden, well, it's hard to say. I really miss him and one year or so is not gonna kill us. I really want us to have better communication, so what better way than to be immersed in the language day to day.

Thank you too, Confusednscared. I'm sure my husband has beat himself up enough over all his "silly mistakes," it's just a little bump in the road, the way I see it. I take responsibility for most of it, because I don't think I really prepared him for what would happen there. Praying for good things for you, too. Being separated from a spouse is hard. Sending good wishes to all of you having to quietly suffer through. Big *hugs*
