Hi,

I'm an anxious person and the immigration changes in Canada are affecting my mental health. I will be applying for my PR this year and have a few reservations about my application. I did my masters from a reputed university in BC. I was earlier going to claim points for my foreign experience but because my salary was lower than the income tax bracket, I did not file a return. I want to avoid the situation where IRCC asks me for a return and I don't have anything to furnish. Therefore I've decided to not disclose my foreign experience. I have a few questions that I was hoping to get consult on:

- is omitting your foreign work experience to not claim points considered misrepresentation if you've disclosed this information in your study permit?
- i could not disclose my full work experience when i was applying for my Post Graduate Work Permit. The columns on the form only gave options for three. Will that lead to inconsistent filing?
- if i apply for a PNP, do I have to disclose my foreign experience if I'm not claiming points for it?
- what other pathways can I explore if not CEC? My work permit will expire January 2027. I am currently working in a full-time job. Please advise.

thanks for replying!
- disclose it in the template that IRCC asks for?
- do you have to disclose even when you're applying for a PNP?
- what are some alternate PR pathways one can opt for?

honestly, if i knew things were going to get so particular, i'd have been alot more cautious with my document filing!

You need to disclose any work experience even if not claiming points. You can list it is personal experience. You should always be diligent when filing out government documentation. Nobody can predict immigration policy so far in advance but would suggest learning French.

The documents to upload to claim foreign work exp isn't complicated at all. A lot of threads you read where rejections are coming through due to foreign work experience is because:
1. foreign work exp was actually fake. So many people DM me and say how they actually faked their work exp. Also, met so many PRs and Citizens who did the same with their EE profile. IRCC is simply rejecting those type of applicants now.
2. rejections can't solely happened because IRCC can't confirm foreign exp points - they primarily happen because after the foreign exp points are excluded, most fall below the minimum CRS for ITA. The exception is where IRCC confirms that you did serious misrep and reject/issue PFL for it. Point being, just because they can't validate, won't lead to rejection.

Not sure what country you are from, but where I'm from there are policies that employees who fall below the minimum tax bracket are enrolled. See if you have something like that (We have something called ESIC in India) and you can show something like ESIC history. Also, your paystubs/payslips/paystatements/etc offer letter, resignation email, etc all those things matter.

By design of these systems and rules, IRCC can't reject a legitimate applicant. A lot of these stories don't end up telling you the truth. I remember there was this applicant in June/July AOR group, he claimed that he was falsely rejected based on PoF despite having enough balance in his bank - what he didn't really say was that he fabricated PoF statement and was hoping that his contact at the bank would help him through the verification call. If you dive deeper, things are completely different.

thanks for responding! So i have foreign experience in two NOCs. Oldest NOC is Auditing and the most recent foreign experience NOC is Public Relations. My current job in Canada is also Public Relations. Will it be considered odd if I claim points for Auditing foreign experience since it's not my work field anymore and this experience is from September 2016 - October 2017. It's such old work experience and I am looking to apply in for EE in November 2025. I did disclose the auditing experience in my study permit application but not in my post graduate work permit application. I have also had a study permit refusal once so i just want to put an application which has a strong chance of approval. In my revised study permit application, i had also mentioned in the statement of purpose that I have ties in my home country and I will move back there after my studies. Then I started working here. Won't they call it misrepresentation that I stated in the SOP i'll move back and now I am applying for permanent residency?

learning a new language seems so challenging when you have a whole career to plan and focus on. But I understand how it seems to be my only option. Do you think BC PNP is a good idea? I did study from there and they're launching a masters stream. However, I have read nothing about it in detail and there was a recent announcement how PRs and staff in BC for immigration has been slashed. Would you have any info on that or any other provinces which are relaxed immigration?

Not declaring the auditing job could be very problematic for a PR application if you now declare it and want to use points for it.
