After first 2 draws I was actually panicking like everyone else here, and then started to think a little bit, please share your thoughts if I am correct or not.
1. For FSW2014 was expected to receive 25000 applications but this number was not reached before December 31 2014, CIC states they got around 12000 applications. So it means there was not that many people who were eligible and wanted to apply. The requirements for the program was not changed so there can't be too many applicants this year, of course we should expect a little bit bigger numbers cause it's easy to have online application but as I said everyone still have to meet the same requirements.
2. Last year just 1200 lmia were issued, so there shouldn't be way more this year, of course we should still consider those 10 days lmia's for express entry. But again all old rules still apply to get them.
3. CEC 8000 cap was reached at the end of October, but the cap for this program was increased from 15000 to 23000 this year.
4. Also PNP. Just a small amount of them will be eligible to receive extra 600 points.

So basically it means that even people with lower scores will be invited. Cause we are all the pool so it means we already qualify but now it won't be first came first served, they will invite us based on higer scores but eventually almost everyone?

What do you think guys? Does it make any sense?

Thanks

Re: Is it possible that almost everyone from the pool will get ITA?

There should be a minimum score threshold. Pretty sure they won't bother with people who have score in 200s range just to meet the cap.

Re: Is it possible that almost everyone from the pool will get ITA?

I really pray to God that your notion is true!

Although, from a point of view it makes total sense

Re: Is it possible that almost everyone from the pool will get ITA?

Well 200 it's still a score, it means that they all met 67 points required for the program, that was enought last year, and they didn't have enought applicants for that.

I calculated exactly as the way you thought, and offcourse there will be a minimum score factor under which CIC will not issue any ITA; according to my opoinion the score should not be lower than 300 :)

Best thing I have read today. I have been quite stressed out with this new EE process.
me and my wife don't have LMIA nor any PNP so our score is 409 pts. (no ielts from me and no eca yet.)
but what you wrote does makes sense. bec to get into the pool you have to meet the 67 point mark which we all have met.
before reading your piece, i was really pessimistic about the whole new process.
you are right though, ee applicants that has LMIA, CEC and PNP will eventually ran out. it seems what's happening now is that people with higher scores that should probably be more successful asap in canada are given priority to be processed first wherein before it was a race to submit applications regardless you are most qualified or not.

within a year of numerous draws every month hope the CRS scores goes all the way down.
and i agree on what you said , even if its only 200. it is still a score that has met the required 67 pts to enter the pool.
fingers crossed , hopefully we all get our ITAS and get a chance of a better life in canada.

Monija...I do appreciate your optimism. However, there would be a threshold limit below which applications will not be invited. I believe the cut-off will certainly fall and that is where NOC will come into play later.

Also on what basis have you arrived saying there won't be too many applicants...??

Well when I said there won't be too many applicants I looked into previous year number of applicants, as I mentioned before for fsw2014 quota was 25000 and CIC got just around 12000 applications, it means there were not enough candidates last year who was eligible and wanted to apply. So I don't see how it would be possible that this year there will be like 300 000 people? Wouldn't make any sense.

and of the 12,000 applicants last year, we also have to take into account if all 12,000 of them passed the 67 point mark?
bec with the old process you just pass the application yourself. there is no online profile or tool to be used to really gauge you do qualify and met the 67 pt mark

Do not compare 25k with 300k because 300k includes family class visa, parent & grandparent,Canadian experience class, business & investor program etc.
25k is comparable to 51k which is targeted for 2015 EE as skilled immigration.

+1 for the this pragmatic analysis.

I could not agree more. Sailing in the same boat though with CRS score of 435.

Sorry for misunderstanding but I took the numbers of 300 000 just as any number, not total amount of visas.

This is the total immigration intake for 2015, but still doesn/t add upto 285000.

FSW 51000
CEC 23000
Caregivers 30000
PNP 48000
Family 68000
Total 220000
