After first 2 draws I was actually panicking like everyone else here, and then started to think a little bit, please share your thoughts if I am correct or not.
1. For FSW2014 was expected to receive 25000 applications but this number was not reached before December 31 2014, CIC states they got around 12000 applications. So it means there was not that many people who were eligible and wanted to apply. The requirements for the program was not changed so there can't be too many applicants this year, of course we should expect a little bit bigger numbers cause it's easy to have online application but as I said everyone still have to meet the same requirements.
2. Last year just 1200 lmia were issued, so there shouldn't be way more this year, of course we should still consider those 10 days lmia's for express entry. But again all old rules still apply to get them.
3. CEC 8000 cap was reached at the end of October, but the cap for this program was increased from 15000 to 23000 this year.
4. Also PNP. Just a small amount of them will be eligible to receive extra 600 points.

So basically it means that even people with lower scores will be invited. Cause we are all the pool so it means we already qualify but now it won't be first came first served, they will invite us based on higer scores but eventually almost everyone?

What do you think guys? Does it make any sense?

Thanks
I would love to agree on your stats in a perfect world, but, the whole point of changing the immigration system will defy if they invite everyone in the pool? I think their motive and targets are clear, get the top candidates to Canada. Period. Also, considering the fact that they have elections this year, this is a great way to attract the voters.

I really hope everyone gets an ITA, but why live on hope, we should all try to get those extra marks if we can.... Find jobs once job bank is active and be on top of the game, so that CIC willing provide us with the ITA because we deserve one!!!! All the best!!

The thing is that immigration system was not changed at all. That's the key. Everyone still has to meet the same requiremens to enter the pool like they had to meet to send an application last year.
The only thing changed is the way we have to send our applications ( so the way CIC will get all info and start process it) and that it won't be first came first served, this time the higer scores will be processed first.

You also have to take into account the new applications that are made every month. It is no longer first come first serve. So if someone gets a LMIA in June, he will still make the cut and increase the cut off

A few thoughts on this:

1. Do not confuse entering the pool with a proper application for PR. The whole point of the express entry system is that the hurdle to become part of the pool is considerably lower than handing in an entire PR application. All that is needed is an IELTS test and in some cases an ECA, and many international students in Canada don't need an ECA and may already have a valid IELTS score. So you can expect the successful applications to enter the pool to be many times higher than actual PR applications from 2014.

2. It's the first time I'm hearing about these numbers. Can you post a link?
In any case, CIC have stated in this press briefing: https://instaud.io/4dB that their PR application backlog at some point was 600,000 pending applications! In that light, the number you quote above seems fairly low.

3. Lastly, I'm not saying that it isn't possible that the entire pool will receive an application (especially in the first year of EE operating). All I'm saying is that the rationale you are using to come to that conclusion is flawed.

In that context, the notion that there will be a cut-off above 300 points or so is just the personal opinion of some of the posters above and is not based on facts. CIC have stated that they will hold themselves to their published immigration targets. This means that if there are fewer people in the pool than spots available, everyone in the pool will get invited. Remember: EE is not a new program, it is a new way of managing the existing immigration programs. E.g., for FSWP the threshold for eligibility is still 67 points. As long as you meet that threshold and there are enough spots available, an ITA will be issued (even if your CRS is really low).

Again, listen to the audio linked above to understand how EE works. Don't speculate.
your post sir gave me even more hope. :) :) :)

that's how i see it as well. highly qualified gets process first rather than the first ones who submitted their applications.
at the end of the day, if you dont get 67 pts , you are a no go.

let's hope for the best and be patient :)

Partially agree, but let's not forget backlog applications talking about targeted PRs for 2015. I think major loss is for those who their WPs is expiring soon.

This statistic is 100% wrong. People need to stop quoting it. The number was more like 120,000.

Well we got that 1200 number from cic audio conference, they said that there were just 1200 LMIA last year which would qualify for express entry. I believe that total number of LMIA issued last year is way bigger but the majority of them were for low skilled occupations -housekeepers, food counter attendants etc.

1. If you look at the posted LMOs issued in 2012 http://www.esdc.gc.ca/eng/jobs/foreign_workers/lmo_statistics/annual-skill-level.shtml
2. There were about 95000 LMOs issued for NOC O A B

I see where you are coming from..

LMO was way too easy to get and having loop holes.. That's why it got replaced with LMIA..

There were lots of LMO's issued in 2012 and before, but then government noticed lots of fraud form employers and made the rules for LMO's way harder. That's way we can see such a huge difference in number for 2012 and 2014.

I think EE is launched to overcome backlog, Cic don't want to take burden of applications. They just choose few number of applications and work on it. They want to show their progress by selecting fewer applications. This is the reason so far they are unable to decide the dates for draws!
