hello I just want to share our timeline and experience on applying for FSW. We applied for FSW last june 2005 and last nov 2008, the CIC sent us a letter asking us if we are still interested in pursuing our application and they have given us an option in refunding our application processing fee. My husband and I decided to wait for the processing time and up to now it is almost 5 years, no progress yet, my husband is working in Singapore right now and he is PR there already.

In my case, i grab the opportunity to be a live in caregiver here in Canada and I am almost done my 24 months on August this year and getting ready to apply for PR again. I am just upset about our application last 2005, i am just wondering if thet can consider my husband's application as Immigration instead of me applying again for PR and paying the application fee again.

I hope anyone can enlighten me with our case. Thanks for the help!

@ rosellyalung - we almost have a similar case. We applied for FSW mar 2005.My husband is in canada under LCP and could apply for PR this oct. How long will it take him to get a PR?

Hi everyone. we also applied under old system. we submitted our application last oct 2004 and god a reply from the embassy on FEb 2005. last 2008, we got a letter if we are still interested with our application or would like to withdraw it. of course we are interested thus we did not reply to the said letter. February 2010, we got another letter informing us to send the updated documents: application, proof of funds, payment for right of permanent residence fee. we did send those documents and sometime may of 2010, we received the request for medical and did it last june. Now, we are waiting for the outcome of the said request. Hopefully, we'll get the PPR(passport request) soon.. So, to all of you who are still waiting, don't worry.. it will come. it takes a lot of patience. Let us always hope and pray for the good news! God bless..

Hi albert_alo,

We almost have the same case. We also applied here in Manila. Hopefully, and I'm praying, that we can get the medical request soon (yours is just around a month after you sent the documents update). God bless.

@gico- the first stage approval will take for at list 7-8 months, we have the same case, we have one son , all the people in this thread are saying it depends on the visa officer that will handle the case application.you can check the timeline at www.cic.gc.ca thanks!

good luck to all of us! what month did you apply for fsw?

@roselleyalung - we applied march 2005 then april 2005, we got the letter from the embassy together with the receipt of acknowledgement. some of the posts who applied feb 2005 already received their medical request. how about you? what month did you apply for FSW and what's the status? regarding your PR request, can you apply for it together with the request for family sponsorship?
Thanks and God Bless!

I applied March 2005 and received my acknowledgment receipt April 2005 and no feedback from embassy yet. From the threads I read, it seems that applicants who received thier AOR in Feb 2005 are the ones receiving requests for updates and medicals. Let's hope that anytime soon it will be March, and that's yours! please post if ever you receive a request so that I could then expect mine. BTW,what CIC office did you apply?

Hi giys,

I have never received any letter from cic ever asking to withdraw my application....
I had actually applied a few years back though an agent and paid him the full amount and later I withdrew his authorisation as he was demanding more money..... I got a small doubt . . . . Is there any remote possibility that the agents can get the application held / delayed in connivence with the officials??

@ Param.....there is nothing the consultant can do....neither good or bad.....do u check the ecas status of u r file.....and the contract address of ecas....if it is ur s then the consultant has no right and CHC will not allow anymore deal with the consultant....
